Will Steam Achievements have a point value?

I'm wondering if there has ever been a plan by the GB crew to add point values to the achievements from Steam Games. I bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution over the weekend and I'm going through it on PC where I have previously gone through it on PS3 when it first came out. It would be kinda cool to see how much better I have doing in the PC version compared to the PS3 version. The point total of achievements interest me more than the total amount of achievements which is all Steam presents. Curious if the crew has ever mentioned doing this or not.

Nope. Never. The reasoning behind it is that since mods can have their own achievements, a modder could make an achievement worth a billion points and devalue the entire system by doing so.

@Video_Game_King: Well I'm asking if GB will add points to Steam achievements like they added points to trophies for PS3.

God I hope not. Achievements are fucking dumb, and the points allocated for them is even more dumb.

They did? I imagine it's in relation to the trophy ranks, something Steam lacks in any capacity.

What do these points and achievements get you?

@Video_Game_King: They just copied the scores from the Xbox 360 and for exclusives they have a generic score for bronze, silver, and gold trophies that don't necessarily add up to 1,000.

I'm pretty sure that all playstation trophies are based on set values for bronze, silver and gold. In no way am I going to believe that anyone is manually adjusting ps3 games to have exact parity with the Xbox achievement values

"Bragging rights" is such a weird phrase. "Braggable" too.

Achievements are worthless without points or some kind of built-in value system. But achievements with no built-in value system that has fake points attached to them is beyond ludicrous.

God I hope not. I don't want the Microsoft achievement system anywhere near other platforms. 
 
Plus, implementing that system to Giant Bomb would be too time consuming and pointless.
