Your First Gaming Experience...

I know that on these forums we have a wide variety of ages.  So, it is safe to assume we have a wide variety of video game experiences as well.  I thought it would be cool if we all tried to name the first game we ever played.  
 
I was born in the mid-80s and the big systems at the time were the NES and Master System.  But, the first game console I really played a lot was the Colecovision.  My Dad owned a Master System and occasionally he would hook it up to our primary TV but most of the time that TV was used to watch cable.  But, we had another TV in my parents bedroom.  The TV was to old to hook up the Master System (the TV was old enough that it didn't have composite hook ups) but we could hook up the Colecovision.  My Dad had a ton of Colecovision games but the one I remember playing first was One-on-One: Dr. J and Larry Bird.  What a great game that was.  I remember it blew my mind when I could break the glass-backboard by dunking.  
 
So, what was the first game you remember playing?

My Dad had an Atari Intellivision and a box of games when I was 3 years old. That would have been 1982-83. He asked me if I wanted to play a game and at first when he approached the TV I was like "I thought we were going to play a game..." Thinking about  assemble the bugs (cant' remember the name), and Hungry hippo, I was confused that he was at the TV. He said he thought I'd be old enough to have fun with this... and he plunked down a game of Astro Smash.  
 
I was immediately hooked. So much so that I began to beat Dad's score pretty easily and by the time I was 4 he didn't want to play with me anymore. Which sucks, because I lost my gaming buddy. This of course prompted me to beg and plead for a Nintendo. In those days I don't think I had access to news or anything, but I had gone to a friends house and he had the SMB+Duck Hunt combo. That blew me away, it was amazing in hind sight how a game you can beat in five minutes could last for hours. We would just keep playing it endlessly. By the time I was 9 years old my folks blessed me with a Nintendo for my birthday. SMB/DH, Megaman, and Metroid would soon follow.  
 
 I would be hooked for life!

Somehow I started on the NES a decade after the fact.

First game I ever played was Super Mario Brothers 3 for NES. 
I was like 4. Remember it like it was yesterday.

Earthbound, I think.

My friend got Pong at his house in 1976. We played it had fun got bored and went outside.

My parents had a 2600 and an NES before I was born, which by the way,  was back in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-six. The first games I have vivid memories of playing were Super Mario bros. 2, Zelda II, and The Adventures of Lolo. I'm pretty sure that Mario 2 was the first. 

I bought a PS3 3 years ago, but I'm trying to keep up with the classics.

Born in the 90s my parents were afraid of Columbine and hated videogames. Specifically my mother. Anyway I eventually played Banjo Kazooie in a hospital and from then on any chance I could play games at a friend's I would.

Got a Sega Megadrive with Sonic 1 in 1991

I played some 101 Dalmatians game on the PS1 and fell in love. I was like 6 or some shit so it was amazing to me.

Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, and Duck Hunt were my first video games. I also had Deadly Towers, which most people use as an example of one of the worst NES games ever. I was too young to realize how bad it was, though.  
 

I really have no idea. Probably some really old PC games, though most likely a C64 game of some kind would have been my first.

Basically, it was Pong at a friend's house for me, too, but in 1981( as far as non -arcade goes)

i think i played Super Mario Galaxy for the N64 while i was very young.  and some other Zelda game of some sort.  i think i probably took a 10 year break from video games until i was introduced to a PS2

My mom bought me my first Playstation when I was four. She bought Mortal Kombat 2 with it (for a four year old, really?) but I guess it was more for her than me. She performed a fatality on me, scared me shitless. I didn't play games for a year until I was five and I whooped her with Sub Zero.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and Batman Forever on the SNES. Batman Forever scared the shit out of me.

It was either Super Mario Bros 3 or Command and Conquer, used to connect up the computers and play against my brother.

My first gaming memory is when me and my bro got a SNES for christmas, along with Super Mario World and Killer Instinct. Damn I mustve been like 3 or 4 at the time but it was awesome

First game I ever played was Goldeneye, loved it. Next I probably played Mario

Super Mario Bros., Duckhunt and  Duck Tales were the first few games I played. 
 
With all due respect to Super Mario Bros, I probably enjoyed Duck Tales the most.

My first gaming experience actually came at primary school with Granny's Garden, while at home my first game was probably Asteroids on the Atari 2600.

I don't know if it's my first game I ever played but, I do remember asking my dad if we could keep renting Addams Family Uncle Fester's Quest for the NES.  Or RBI Baseball that I played when I went to my grandparent's house.

I was like 5-6 I think.

I have fond memories of DKC and Earthworm Jim on the SNES.

My earliest memories.

Super Mario 64, in a store, on what I BELIEVE was launch day (I was 6 when the N64 came out, so it's hard to tell). I didn't get my own copy until Christmas of 2001.

SSMB/Duck Hunt and Humongous Entertainment games like Freddi Fish and Putt-Putt. 

When I first moved from my hometown to this one, someone had left a PS1 and a small tv in the house we moved into, along with a copy of Tekken, so that was the first game I ever played.

For me Sonic on the Sega Mega Drive in 1990s? I was born in 1988 so I must have been 5 or 6 at the time.

I remember owning a SNES and Mega Drive to begin with and I don't know the first time I played them properly. My earliest memory though is getting up at 6 AM everyday before school, having a cup of tea and biscuits and then playing Super Mario World before school for 2 hours. It was great, I wish I could still do that but nowadays I find it difficult to get up at 10 :P

 
The Legend of Zelda a link to the past was the very first game I ever played.

My dad bought me a Genesis when I was little with copies of Kid Chameleon, Dick Tracey, and Primal Rage. I can't remember which one I played first but I loved them all.  

Very clearly, I remember playing Super Mario World right after its release. I think I was, like, four.

I remember back in 82 or so my father holding me up so I could play the Pac-Man arcade. I don't think I really made the connection between the joystick and Pac-Man at the time, but that was my first experience with video games. I just wish I remembered where it was.

When I turned 3 years old back in the summer of 91, I played Duck Hunt at a friend's house.  Later that year, my brother and I got an SNES for Christmas along with Super Mario World.

I think the first game I played was Total Annihilation, but my first real intrest in gaming was watching my brother play Starcraft  

Mom and Dad bought me a Nes with Mario bros./Duck hunt for my 5th Birthday.

Tarzan for the playstation 1 along with lego racers were the first games i played. Didnt know or own a memory card so never got very far into the games, the damn rope bridge level in tarzan still haunts me.

Some co-ops on the boardwalk along the South Jersey shore back in 1977.  For Chirstmas 1978, I got a Super Pong console.
