good luck vinny but this just feel's bad.
Your Giant Bomb Expansion Plan Patch Notes
@president_barackbar: the idea that they are "hanging by a thread" is people projecting their opinion if the current content in the site. A big company like CBSi would not reward failure. If the site was truly hanging by a thread, they would not be approving new hires and opening a new office. They would most likely just shut it down. This isn't some internet start up who put all their eggs in one basket and need it to succeed, this is a large corporation that is all about making money. The fact that the expansion was approved shows me that GB must be doing well.
When Ryan Davis passed i found it hard to expect Giant Bomb to be the same. The fact is Jeff, Vinny and Brad really carried the quick look void together and made it surprisingly enjoyable.
Although i respect Patrick and Alex as people, i have never enjoyed the video content they produce. I loved the work Alex did at screened.com and Patrick is an awesome journalist but they are simply not the GB crew most of us grew so fond of.
I in no way fault Vinny, this was something he had to do ( for his family ) and i wish him all the best. However i cannot help but feel like another part of Giant Bomb died today.
I'm sorry. Vinny and Jeff were a package deal for me. After Ryan's passing, they were the reason I came to this site. While neither of them are leaving the site, I can safely say that I'm just done. Thanks for the years of taking my money and turning it into hilarity, but as much as I like Jeff and Vinny, I don't think the services rendered would be worth my cash any longer. Thanks for everything, though.
Seeing a lot of pessimism here and I never ever post or have any sort of standing in the GBC (sorta like LBC but ,you know, video games) but just wanted to post and voice my support for the crew.
You may think you have all the time in the world to do the things you want to do but things change, in an instant.
I knew Vin was no weakling but damn, that is some serious strength of character. I am in a very similar situation but have found myself just treading water, I have not decided to stay or go, I simply stay as a result of not making that decision.
Seeing Vin have the courage to pull the trigger gives me hope that I won't remain trapped in this indecisive limbo forever.
BTW, for me, being a GB subscriber was never about it "being worth the cash".
Rock on dudes....
Sad you won't be a constant on the podcast but hopefully some Vindog will be added in every once and a while. Good luck.
Yosemite is awesome. Death Valley is a desert. Grand Canyon lives up to the hype and scared the crap out of this acrophobe.

I feel like I discovered GiantBomb way too late. Only been on the site since early autumn of last year and now Vinny is moving. I'm sad. I hope GBNY kicks off soon and things become even more awesome in the future. So much that they decide to open Giant Bomb Sweden so I can join the crew.
@demoskinos: I have to agree, I'm not sure who to feel about this yet. I love the podcast and as good as jeff is, he's even better with a funny partner. With Ryan gone and Vinny moving, where's the funny going to be now? =/
