Is this a joke? because I didn't think anyone existed that could actually like this tool honestly and not be joking...no one cares what hes doing, he should of died when he was shot.

I've done research too. This is what I've come up with:
50 Cent's acting is horrible 50 Cent's album WILL suck, thank god it's his last. Eminem album won't be great, featuring 50 Cent will only make it worse.
Regardless of what you think of his music (his unsigned stuff was good, after that, meh), 50 cent is actually a very smart and intelligent person when it comes to business. And it's not just with music or movies. Think about it, how long have you been seeing Vitamin Water now? Yeah, a long time. There is a reason it's still there.

Why do people try to sell me on the merits of artists like 50 Cent and Soulja Boy on their business acumen? You never see MF Doom or Mos Def cite their portfolio as a reason why they are good artists?

True, but even those artists (specifically Mos Def) are smart business men and know how to get their music heard to the largest amount of people at a given time. It's the same reason why people like to degrade those same artists on their speech dialect or slang/lingo that they use, they try to prove a point. However the difference being that one is based on common sense (seeing that someone is a successful artist, even though you may not like their music) and the other is based on a negative outlook on the way people interact (it's all about where you grow up, the culture you are raised around, and etc, just because it different than what you are used to, it doesn't make it wrong)

He definitely did just smirk the whole retiring thing.... But in all reality, that whole "beef" was set up between Kanye and 50, so it was more likely all for publicity.

I agree to a certain extent, but there are socalled artists there who perpetuate a negative stereotype which is unfortunately permeating popular hiphop. I thought this was supposed to be artistry, not a business model. I was watching MTV awhile ago and they showed Cribs with the Ying Yang Twins and those two really made me weep. MC Lars' song "Generic Crunk Rap" sums up how these guys are killing hiphop.
Not that there isn't any place for stupid fun music, hell I love stupid fun music, but when guys like MURS, MC Frontalot and MC Chris aren't showcased at all due to not conforming to the supposed industry standard that I find sad.
