Amazon sells Giant Bomb Blogs for 99 cent a month?

I'm really not sure what you get that you would not get from the website itself for free.

Or, is this pre-packaged way for a Kindle without a web browser to see a website. 99 cents for a month is fair I guess...but this just seems really weird...get a device that has a browser!!!!

Who gets this money?

I don't use Kindles, but in this world of many tablets and devices, carrying them all around is a pain in the butt. So if people want to bring their kindle instead of say, their Surface Pro 3, and wants to view GB, I wouldn't judge them for buying this.

Weird, I never knew about this app in particular. If it was 2009 it was when they were trying different avenues to make money (before they decided on subscriptions)- or else at the time they couldn't make it free. I don't know. 2009 was when they made the Giant Bomb app too if I recall. This is probably just another hold over from that stuff, though. They were experimenting with a lot of stuff back then.

My guess is that it is/was a scammer trying to skim some cash off of Giant Bomb's name before anyone notices, but then again I wouldn't know if there was an official app in the works before GB came back around to CBSi.

Good thing the first 14 days were free. It's like signing up for the WWE network for their free month and then cancelling before the monthly payment plan hits.

Those Amazon subscription things are website articles nicely packaged for e-ink kindles. Because websites look like trash on the kindle web browser. I think it just takes the RSS feed and automatically formats it into a nice, simple format for e-ink kindles.

I guess this was set up back in the Whiskey Media days and everyone just forgot about it.

This is weird.

Now I can buy all those blogs I wrote years ago and read them on a Kindle that I don't own.
