So I'm at my grandparents house for a while. You know what that means? The beach! Yay! I love the beach. It's fun. It's nice. It's an all around wonderful thing. 
 
So we are at the beach in the morning. And at night? Well there's a computer. Ok, cool. Let's just log on the internet and...  
 

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT. BOOP BOOP. PHONE DIALING. BZZZZT BEEP BEEP BEEP. 

   
Sorry, the sound of me hitting my head against the desk may have just cut in. A.O.Fricking.L. Wonderful. Just... wonderful. I'm sure we all have great memories of A.O.L. That noise from above that scares little kids, the hour long waits, the constant time on the phone wait for someone to cancel the suck. Just... how is this company, if we can even call it that, still around? It's just an awful thing made by an awful company that should have gone out of business forever ago. Yet it has not yet. Why? Who the hell still uses A.O.Hell? 
 
Ugh. Whatever. I thougt the humor may be nice for people, so I'm posting this to the forums. I want to know, you guys have any bad experencies with A.O.L? Need to just rant about the damn thing in general? Can do that here too if need be.

tell ur grandparents to get broad band. get something like DSL so it will be cheap but fast. i have DSL it's slow but i can deal with how slow it is. o well, i would hate to be u. i remember having dial up and i would read harry potter book because iw anted to play a game on the internet. it would take like a hour to load. it was just a flash game also.

Mine too, all those years I had dial up, then switching from that garbage to cable internet was just the most amazing thing ever.

Had AOL up until I found out that SOCOM needed a broadband connection. Then I begged my parents until they got broadband.

I'm sure none of us miss AOL. I was a bit to young to remember AOL to much, but yea. A trip to my grandparents brings me right back... to headdesking.

Ahh damn, that noise makes me want to kill things, it's so horrible. also, WHY DO WE NEED TO HEAR IT!?! Unless i'm missing something I don't know a lot about internet technology, but what, did somebody think listening to that would be cool or something? Why do we have to listen to it? Is there a way to turn it off? 
 
I have broadband, but, i'm still curious as to why we had to listen to that noise. 
 
Edit: Also, fuck AOL, I hate that ISP.

I had AOL. That is the worst ISP known to man. Thank god they went partially bankrupt or something. Who the hell uses a private VIP server?! That means no Xbox or Torrents.

Red12b: Consider yourself lucky you don't have or know about AOL. All you need to know is that it takes 5 f-ing years to load anything. See that 27 sec video up there? Took me 20 minutes to load. Thats all you need to know. 
 
Oh, and look it up on Wikipedia. Its got an entry that is fun to read...
