Since I've been listening to a lot (and I mean A LOT) of Hotline Miami OST this week....I think the guy who did that and Daft Punk should do a mix album, would be fuckin amazing.

Same goes for Daft Punk and Kavinsky (the guy who contributed Nightcall to the Drive soundtrack). I'd love to see something like that.

I'm a firm believer the Tron Evolution movie would have been a insanely lesser experience if not for Daft Punk.

maaan- saw it live when they hit berkeley in 2007. i had seen that first coachella show from youtube bootlegs, so i somewhat knew what to expect. but when they busted out the encore with "music sounds better with you" and went all wire-framey...i almost imploded.

If I could, I would go back in time, kill you and take your place. That is easily the best live performance I've ever heard and really regret not going.

Finally! I can't get into a lot of modern electronic music, what with their "dubs" and "steps". The music playing in the ad is more my speed. Gimme dat electro fauwwwnk.

I own two CS-80s, a korg micro, korg radias, two Faemi-Ms (russian keyboards)

One of said Ruskie keyboards look like and they sound fucking crazy. I used to own a few others but university, cars and whores siphoned desire to collect them. They are super expensive.

@hawkerace: niiice. i actually haven't fallen down the vintage keyboards hole yet- i'm primarily a guitarist, so i'm content to blow all my money on obscure stompboxes i never use. but then again...i have been pricing mark 1's on ebay.

Don't dew it bro. It the fun never ends, and considering analog is pretty much dead there is no reason to collect it except being one of 'those' types of people.

Good fun, can't wait for the album - though I will be avoiding the locals for months after its release.

I like electro music, a lot and somehow never really listened to any of their albums. If it doesn't have a video that played on TV on the music channel back when music channels used to play music i didn't hear it. What i did hear i liked though.

So yeah i should listen to some Daft Punk.

i realize it's impossible to maintain any semblance of objectivity at this point, but you should give 'discovery' or 'alive 2007' another listen if you dig justice that much. obviously they're different- but there's enough common ground there where you might surprise yourself. but yeah 'cross' is DYN-O-MITE.

if you have the patience and/or interest- this could be a neat place to start. it's the companion movie/anime to their album 'discovery.' and as already mentioned, 'alive 2007' is their live album which is pretty fantastic- but that might be better appreciated after you've had a listen to some of their stuff. i'm sure it works in a vacuum but half the fun is hearing how they're able to recontextualize all their samples into a massive live set.
