Are you a mosh warrior? Do you bring the mosh? (To the appropriate concerts.)

#2 Posted by RiotBananas (3822 posts) -

Fuck no, I've attended concerts/gigs where that type of music has been played but I sit at the back with a drink and enjoy. Most people who mosh just look awkward and/or dirty.

#3 Posted by OllyOxenFree (5003 posts) -

Mmmmmm nope.

#4 Posted by SumDeus (1898 posts) -

No. It's obnoxious and I don't enjoy it.

#5 Posted by FilipHolm (669 posts) -

I'm not against Moshing, as long as people don't hurt eachother. But no, I don't do it myself

#6 Posted by coakroach (2493 posts) -

Nah mate.

#7 Posted by Everyones_A_Critic (6496 posts) -

I'd get destroyed in a mosh pit. I just want to enjoy the music, preferably not having to worry about some sweaty drunk retards bashing into me. I know they're a staple at metal shows and I accept that, but it pisses me off when people try to mosh at, say, a 311 concert.

#8 Posted by RIDEBIRD (1252 posts) -

I have moshed where it's appropiate - at punk and hardcore concerts. People moshing at other occasions can go fuck themselves.

#9 Posted by Skogen (430 posts) -

I listen to metal. I go in the pit.

#10 Posted by Chop (1999 posts) -

Fuck no
Moshing is exactly the opposite of what music is about for me.

This! It's a crucial part of the metal experience.

Moshers are assholes.

#15 Posted by Atomasist (2793 posts) -

I don't like to mosh, but I sure do enjoy watching drunk/high people mosh.

#16 Posted by TooWalrus (13292 posts) -

I always bring razor blades to mosh pits

#17 Posted by HolyHackZack (108 posts) -

No I prefer to sit in the back and judge people that are having casual fun... Of course I mosh, it's much friendlier then it looks most of the time. The trick to successful moshing is to keep one foot slightly off the ground, so if you get shoved in any direction you can pivot on your planted foot and set the other one down to stop you from falling over.

yes its fun to get in the pit and go crazy

#21 Posted by ZeForgotten (10368 posts) -

I listen to metal but I'm never there for the pit. I paid money to listen to a band and watch them live, not jump around with a bunch of idiots.

I call them idiots because 2 friends of mine got so into it one year that they cracked their skulls open and now they don't remember being at this one concert at all. Money gone!

#22 Posted by CoverlessTech (763 posts) -

Depends on the crowd moshing. If it's a pit where everyone will grab you and pick you up if you fall then hell yes I mosh. I've seen pits where people who fall are basically fucked, I won't go near that shit.

This. Moshing is the ultimate attention cry. I'm there for the music.

#26 Posted by Clonedzero (4196 posts) -

no, though its actually been a long time since ive been to a concert, but still i have no interest in ever moshing again.

#27 Posted by Castiel (2879 posts) -

I have always found the concept of mosh kinda weird to be honest.

But then again that's maybe because I haven't tried it.

#28 Posted by Surkov (990 posts) -

They're one of the reasons I stopped going to concerts.

#29 Posted by Yummylee (23107 posts) -

Occasionally when I was about 14.

#30 Posted by SaNdMuNkEy (38 posts) -

The only way I would mosh is if people did it like this...

#31 Posted by rmanthorp (4186 posts) -

Naw son.

#32 Edited by ryanwho (12012 posts) -

I don't listen to music that lends itself to moshing that often. And when I do, because I'm not a 14 year old with a dumb looking mowhawk and a leather jacket with tape and shit on it, I don't derive joy from throwing myself in a pit with a bunch of sweaty men groping each other. If that's your thing, good on you. I'd rather dance. Having some nevertakesashower bitch bouncing all over me doesn't enhance the music, I feel.

#33 Posted by JasonR86 (9754 posts) -

I used to but now...no.

#34 Posted by Animasta (14815 posts) -

I did at one time but it's probably not something I'd do now. It was fun though (converge circle pit was great)

That's some creepy shit, man.
"Have you made love in film?" Creepy fucker.
#36 Posted by OneKillWonder_ (1924 posts) -

I did when I was younger, but I stopped when I realized that it prevented me from enjoying the music (and the fact that a lot of the people who do mosh are fucking assholes), and the music is really why I would be at a show in the first place. I don't mind others doing it as long as it doesn't get out of hand, but I never jump in myself anymore. I'm usually standing right on the edge of the pit keeping people from getting knocked down into the rest of the crowd.

#37 Edited by falling_fast (2415 posts) -

moshing is ok

hardcore dancing/fighting invisible ninjas/kicking people in the face is not

#38 Posted by Jothel (1011 posts) -

Moshing was already outdated in the 80s. It's bollocks and makes a whole lotta concerts shitter

#39 Posted by Gamer_152 (14265 posts) -

No, it's really not my thing and where I come from people have been known to get their noses broken in mosh pits.

#40 Posted by McGhee (6075 posts) -

It always looks to me like an excuse for assholes to sucker punch random people in the dark.

#41 Edited by Ksaw (358 posts) -

I used to play in a grindcore band. When I was on stage I would enjoy the sight of people ripping each other apart to our music. It mean's you're doing something right. However, as an audience member I pretty much never participated. It sucks getting elbowed in the back by some big oaf while you're trying to watch a band.

#42 Posted by Bucketdeth (8227 posts) -

No, I usually just listen, I'm not really into getting trampled on.

#43 Posted by JerichoBlyth (1039 posts) -

I only like light moshing to be honest, if that even makes any sense...
I don't try to form a circle of death or anything but I do like pushing and swaying into the people next to me to either piss them off during a dead gig (or when it's inappropriate, like when the band are playing an acoustic or an emotional song) or if it's a really good atmosphere and everyone just wants to bump into you anyway - like during the midst of an Iron Maiden concert or something.
For the record, Maiden were excellent in Glasgow this year...lol

#44 Posted by MrKlorox (11142 posts) -

I used to mosh a lot more when I was in better shape. Now I get winded too easily. Not only that but there always seem to be those flailing pussies swinging punches and kicks in a tornado hoping to hit someone. I'd like to strangle each and every one of them until their eyes turn blood red. Then keep strangling.

But if the band is just completely tearing ass, then I'll shove some dudes who want to be shoved, sure.

#45 Posted by Jasta (2232 posts) -

Yeah its great fun, but I respect that some people don't want to be a part of it.

#46 Posted by wickedsc3 (1043 posts) -

I mosh at Country Music Concerts...........no i dont mosh.

#47 Posted by Beyond_the_infinite (103 posts) -
Back in the day..Yeah i used to a lot..now a days theres no real moshing going on just a bunch of dumb kids dancing around.
#48 Posted by KillyDarko (1990 posts) -

I've been to a good share of metal concerts, but believe it or not, I'm actually there to listen to the music.
