Just a opening act, support and headliner, and maybe a reason why ya put them together.
Dream music gig lineups
Chickenfoot? Well, they are stupid fun but they would not be my top pick...not by a long shot. You know what is good? VAN HALEN!! ;)
Actually, i would probably pick:
Opener - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Support - Pearl Jam
Headline - Rush
I honestly don't know why these go together but I feel it would be a sweet concert. You got your 80s-90s funk, grunge and prog rock all into one. It would make for an interesting show to say the least.

I support this wholeheartedly as well.

Yeah, can't go wrong with Eddie Vedder and Co.!
" @Elazul: A lot of Slash, but good picks nonetheless."Yeah, I was kind of joking, but on further consideration that would be kind of awesome, wouldn't it?
In all seriousness I'd probably go for;
Opener - Nirvana
Support - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Headline - (old) Guns n' Roses
Those were my favorite bands, growing up. I'd be seriously hard pressed to find a gig that I'd enjoy more.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Chickenfoot different all the time? I thought Chickenfoot was a band that guys from other bands played in, not like a set group of people. I know about the group that's touring right now, but is that the same Chickenfoot as 5 years ago?
How about this?
" How about this?HOLY HELL that would be awesome!! :DThe Four Horseman of Metal Festival!Opener: ExodusSupport: TestamentSupport: PanteraHeadline: Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica"
Pop Punk/Punk
Opener: The Vandals
Support: Anti-Flag/Blink-182
Headliner Millencolin
Metal:
Opener: Amon Amarth
Support: Mastodon
Headline: Pantera
Death Metal:
Opener: Scar Symmetry
Support: Decapitated
Headliner: Deicide
"Opener: Machine HeadSupport: MetallicaHeadline: MegadethorOpener: The SwordSupport: BaronessHeadline: MastodonThis for metal. Too hard to pick the bands for other styles."
Oh man, having The Sword, Baronness, and Mastodon in the same concert? Fuck yes.
Opener: High on Fire
Support: Mastodon
Headliner: Opeth
High on Fire covers the sludge metal, as well as Mastodon. Both Mastodon and Opeth cover the epic progressive metal, Opeth covers the death metal and overall gran finale. I've never seen Opeth live, but they must be amazing.
But I have seen Mastodon, it was only a 45 minute gig, but I can imagine how awesome a long 1 1\2 hour concert or a full 2 hour or so concert would be. they were great.
Also, for classic rock:
Opener: Boston
Support: Rush (this is like if we were in like...1977)
Headliner: Led Zeppelin
Boston is well rounded, Rush before Moving Pictures would fit in well with the hard rock atmosphere, Led Zeppelin is all around a perfect headliner.
