"Recovery" is a fitting title, what with him now going back to his roots instead of the lame, self-parodying catastrophes that happened with Encore and Relapse. I really enjoy his first few albums, but those abominations can't be ignored.
There are a lot of other rappers that are, if not better, then at least equally TIGHT. Some personal favorites: MF DOOM, Mos Def and Atmosphere. I know that Atmosphere isn't like a "woah"-guy, but many of his songs are really cool.
His freestyles are usually better than his rap songs, that's how he started out with freestyle competitions. I don't like it when he sings his chorus, it sounds dumb because he's not a singer. Lately he's not putting out too many songs that are good, he just takes a dre beat and raps to it rather than a good custom song. Sure he can rap, however his quality of his songs could be better.

Edit: Yeah dude, his last album was pretty "meh". I only liked two tracks off of it. I was afraid he had fallen off, but these two songs prove he has not. He's extremely talented, and definitely one of my favorite rappers of all time. I was astounded when I listened to Despicable on the aftermathmusic.com site when I saw it was a freestyle, that was pretty amazing. "
True. I thought I was the only one that felt the same way about his album. I was like its okay but Em is gone. Recovery is gonna be his redemption. He is still a beast either way.
Did Eminem ever rap about magnets and how the fuck they work ? No but seriously the Marshal Mathers LP is one of the greatest albums of all time. Plus it features Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J playing the skin flute.

I wouldn't even give him that title. Marshal Mathers LP is pretty sick, don't get me wrong, but I'd have to give it up to the Streets. Original Pirate Material and A Grand Don't Come for Free are still two of my favorite albums of the last decade, and I'm not even that big into rap. Sure is a shame that he dropped off a cliff in quality after those, though. God, Everything is Borrowed is so awful. :\
Man, I love his "serious" songs (to be more specific, the one's that aren't the "druggie persona" (slim?), Mosh, Yellow Brick Road, stuff like that I like).
