After listening to the most recent Tested podcast I was just curious to here what everyone in the GB community's first album was that they bought. Format doesn't really matter unless you want to breakdown your first everything. My first two CDs were The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem and Unleash the Dragon by SIsqo when I was like 10.
First Album You Ever Bought
I can't remember my first actual album (probably some compilation/soundtrack to something) but my first album once I got serious about music was The Black Album when I was about sixteen or seventeen.
EDIT: Metallica's self-titled album, also called "The Black Album" in case I may have had to clarify (I wouldn't have)
First album that I bought for myself was "Waking the Fallen" by Avenged Sevenfold (2003). However, the first album given to me was the 2000 Grammy Nomination CD that featured the nominated songs from 1999/2000.
my first album i got was Master of Puppets, the other one i choose to omit often was Hansen.
but atleast it wasn't Aqua, right? ......right, guys?
" @SpikeSpiegel said:Oh god. We might have bought the same first album. D:" I think I would be embarrassed ever mentioning my first album. No one can ever know. "This. I grew up during an era of boy bands. Just use your imagination. "
Dude, I honestly can't remember, that was like, 20 years ago :P
But if I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it was probably something from Iron Maiden-- they were my first favorite band.
Beastie Boys - The one with brass monkey, girls girls girls n shit (the one with the crashed airplane on the front) oh and it was vinyl
First legit CD was actually two at once: Tha Carter 2 by Lil Wayne and Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor by Lupe Fiasco. I must've played Food & Liquor at least 100 times in that fist month of owning the CD. Every track almost perfectly memorized.
If were talking first CD period, then I did buy a bootleg of Jay-Z's "last" CD, The Black Album. A mother fucking classic.
I didn't buy any CD's before this because I didn't own my own CD player and God only knows what would happen if I played rap music in the living rooms stereo set with parents around. When I finally did get a CD player for Christmas, I could only afford to get bootlegs of albums I wanted so I'd stop by a local bootlegger's spread out collection of CD's by my high school. One CD for 3 bucks, 2 for 5. Wasn't till I moved on to college and got a job that I actually started buying CD's.
First albums ever given to me were some cassettesby some unmentionable boy bands in the 90's when I was extremely young, and obviously stupid. I think the first album I bought was some Black Sabbath compilation CD at a garage sale.
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Don't really care for them now but I thought it was a good album when I was a kid.
