Picking mine up today. I'll post my results later (maybe).
Anyone else picking up their GCSE results today? Worried?
GCSE Results
Not good, not good at all really. I should of done a hell of a lot better. I don't mind doing retakes, so I haven't really got anything to worry about, but it is quite disappointing.
My results *(What I was predicted/should of got)
Maths - C (A*)
English - C (C)
English Lit. - D (C)
Business Studies - C (B)
Media Studies - C (B)
Fine Art - D (C)
Science - D (B)
Ad. Science - D (B)
And a few others, like RE, that aren't even worth mentioning.
College will have to wait a year. I'm half frustrated, and half relieved. Ah well, life goes on.
Word of advice, carry on your education, go to sixth form... seriously.
Loads of my friends dropped out after GCSE and the most successful of them now works behind a bar for pretty shit pay while the others still have no clue what they want out of life.
I stayed on and did A levels and I'm now at Uni doing a Degree in Interactive Video Game Design. Guess that should speak for itself in terms of difference between us, but still... it's for the best to stay on (beginning to sound like his parents... woo)
Well i didn't get a single C o_0
However i'm doing Media first diploma at college. So i only need four E's :D
Yay'zz!
I'm definitely planning on staying on. I know I'm capable, I just need to stay motivated and put my education first, exactly what I wasn't doing during my GCSE's. I mean I should of passed the majority of my subjects with ease, but during year 10, in particular, I naively thought I would get the results I wanted even when I was only putting half the work in. I've definitely learned my lesson.

Good to hear, I'd like to say my original motivation to stay in school was just as honest as yours, but to be fair mine was to do with a girl who was staying at the time, and if it meant I could stay closer to her then it was the way for me.
Ahhh who would have thought following your dick would ever be the right idea lol
"1 A*, 7 As, 1 B, 1 C. The A* was in English Literature, the last subject I thought I would get an A* in."EXACTLY THE SAME AS MY RESULTS 3 YEARS AGO!
Seriously... even down to the subject you got the A* in.
EDIT: My point is - that's weird.
Anyway -- motivation is the most important thing samcotts. Always remember: if something is easy it isn't worth doing.
"What's this GSCE? In my country we don't use letters as scales at all, so the point of failure is C and below?"No, C is borderline, D is fail. Generally it's A*=85%+, A=75-85%, B=65-75%, C=55-65%, D=<55%. That's how my school did it anyways. It's the minimum qualification required to leave school at sixteen.
A* to C is a level 2 qualification, and D to G is a level 1 qualification. Basically, every grade a part from U is a pass grade, but generally people see A* to C as the acceptable grades you should be aiming for, and anything less is a poor grade, or some people even see it as a fail.

"Word of advice, carry on your education, go to sixth form... seriously.I agree, stay on, even if you don't plan on going to university. A levels just give you that little something else and, probably more importantly, more time and guidance to think about where you want to go in life. College or Sixth Form, it's all good and helps and ton.
