Have you ever tried to find a hidden internet forum?

Do they exist? I've been think about this recently and have wondered; why is it whenever a nerdy person is depicted in movies or TV they have some secret internet society they can communicate to? Are they really inaccessible to a foolish gamer dude? Are they just a bunch of elitist jerks anyway? ( -3-)

If you were a member then the forums in question weren't that secret or exclusive.

I think, more realistically, you could branch that out to IRC instead of a forum. I used to be apart of an IRC server that was nothing but really interesting computer/tech/code savvy individuals.

Not forums but one of those invite only union back in GS, I didn't stay though as it was filled with elitist assholes.

What do you mean by 'hidden'?  Sites that try to evade search engines?  (it's harder than you think)  Sites that have a limited number of members?  Sites that are invite only?

There's a lot of small internet communities.

Some are pretty good, but in general, you can get just as much from a normal forum besides maybe the file sharing.

What is 'hidden?" and No.

Also notice that the computer supergeniuses in the movies can operate a computer by randomly pounding on a keyboard. I wish I could do that.

There's a hidden forum on giantbomb. The password is... New England Clam Chowder. But you will never find it! :)
