just read this last week, I just want to know what's your reaction to this, or if you believe this. News shouldn't be making this such a big deal, but its all over now, in youtube, yahoo,etc.. some people are claiming that the world will end on 21st of May. this man named Bryan Haubert has been spreading this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZZ3mieX-I4
of course for obvious reasons I don't believe this..
Have you heard May 21 2011?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Where have you people been? Of course he's referring to the scientifically-backed assertion that May 21 is judgment day.
I thought judgement day was the other week? We're supposed to have another one now? Wasn't the next one scheduled for December 2012?
Guys, I'm starting to think that these people predicting the end of the world don't know what they are talking about. If Terminator can't get it right, nobody can.
Bummer. :( It's Sunday today and I'm gonna watch Thor. Will that help? Ooooh and next Sunday I can watch Priest!
Go to a church and confess your sins the day before just to be sure.
At least I'll have a couple days to play The Witcher 2.
Here is a website with a long list of other (wrong) end of the world predictions. 220 failed predictions. Harold Camping, a radio evangelist, is behind the current date of May 21st, 2011.
The end of the world will eventually arrive, there is no doubt in my mind about that; however even in the Bible it says " But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only" (Matt 24:36). Therefore, I believe it's silly to try an predict these things. It could happen tomorrow, it could happen 10,000 years from now. For both the faithful and those who follow a different path all that means is that we should live our lives to the best of our abilities because the future is uncertain."I will be surprised if we reach October 1, 1994"
" At least I'll have a couple days to play The Witcher 2.Plague of Locusts would be interesting. Also, I wonder which deadly thing will happen? I'm hoping for asteroid."
" @dunkard said:Likewise. If the world ends the day after my exams end I'll be pissed." the supposed rapture or end of the world. "Directly after my exams, typical. "
" @dunkard said:haha" the supposed rapture or end of the world. "Directly after my exams, typical. "
oh yeah i saw that on a billboard on the way to work the other day, i thought it was just another religious get together, you know listen to some people talk then get your free meal.
" I'm curious what got these believers to actually believe that a catastrophe will be happening. were they drugged? was something told to them? like for instance that former girl in the military that's now joined in this movement... "apparently some dude deducted it from some verse in the bible and... don't bother, these people are insane.
Just once I would like to be in a group of people like this when the clock rolls over to the day after the world is supposed to end just to see how they react to realizing they were wrong, and that now they gotta go crawling back to get their job and go back to the houses they abandoned, and to face all those people they harassed about the world ending.
The same guy claimed this would happen in 1992.
I can agree to an extent. I know this will likely be shot down however, scripturally quoting from Matthew's Gospel Chapter 24:42-44 (New International Version)" I don't think any person can accurately predict the end of the world. "
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
