I've been at DLI for a few months already and I only went to go watch the avengers. I spend most my freetime on Skype with the misses and parents, or doing homework. Any advice?

Weather here sucks so bad. I hate it. It goes from 30-90 everyday.

Only Stateside until I finished SERE. I'm here in Monterey for at least 2 more years due to taking up 2 languages here. After Monterey I'll be at training I can't talk about.

I won't go overseas until late 2014 or early 2015. Linguist training is very hard and there's more to my job than just that, plus I have Aircrew stuff.

Kinda sucks the first 3+ years of my military career are training. Oh well.

@KaosAngel: Yeah I only just got home from school a week ago where the weather was just about to break 90. I'm actually really glad to wear a sweater in May again. Anyway freetime stuff... definitely go to that aquarium... Christ there really is nothing to do around here, go to Big Sur and see the pretty coastline, go to Carmel and see the pretty coastline, (I'm only being partially sarcastic here, if you're outdoorsy the woods and coast south of Monterey are beautiful.) movies (You probably know the regular theater by now but there's the local indie theater that's surprisingly good at getting good films), farmers markets, wine tasting, the Concours is later this summer, the food is good everywhere, other than that I'm at a blank.

@Blackout62: Not gonna lie, all I do is go to the DMC or downtown. I don't go out drinking so there isn't much to do. The theater by the DMC is nice though, way better than the East Coast. Why is the weather so damn cold here? When I marry my GF I plan on renting a home 40 mins away from base so she's closer to the warm beach, I can't make her stay at the cold part. But she puts her foot down and says I'm not driving an hour to work.

Whatever, I will win that fight and give her a place to love in the warmer part. I heard San Fran is horri-bad to horri-good and only an hour away!

Holy shit, yesterday when I saw this thread and thought Kaos was banned, I was trying to think of other perennial trolls who I thought were banned because I haven't seen them post in forever, and HandsomeDead and ryanwho were the two I came up with. That's crazy.

Handsomedead wasn't banned I don't think. Far as I know he just left because he's kinda... moved on from games. I think I may have even talked him into leaving as well, which has left me feeling awful =(

Or maybe he was banned, I don't know.

@Yummylee: He was my favorite poster aside from Pie, MB, and the Russian who were from Europe. :(
