Why would going with your sister be any more embarrassing than going with a friend or cousin?  In fact, shouldn't you have a closer bond with your sister.  I didn't ask this question for any more reason than to hear responses.  Lots of angry ones.

no, i don't have a sister but if i did i wouldn't go with her. it would be weird to go with a sister. if i had to go i would rather go alone. proms are weird and awkward if you don't have anyone to talk to.

I guess it's "no" by default for me because I don't have a sister. And if I did, I still wouldn't take her.

No. You would look like a complete douche. I don't have a sister, but I could imagine it being really awkward dancing with one. I only had a girlfriend for one school-related dance. The other two I went to I took a female friend.

prom was good for two things: 1.) getting an official pic taken of me and my date for the parentals who really only care for like 10 seconds when they see it and 2.) the hotel afterwards for you and all your friends to party the night away in.

i hope this thread is hypothetical.

You go with a friend or something if you can't get a date, going with your sister is fucking weird. You might as well just stay home at that point.

You don't NEED a date to go to prom. Go with a group of your friends, even if you're all male or female. My friends went in a group and used our sole guy as the token "date", but everyone really just danced together in a group. Many of the opposite-sex couples I knew were simply good friends who paired up for prom photos and dancing, but they weren't actually dating.

Are either you or your sister adopted?
