hows the battery life? and is the touch screen prone to scratches

I use the Itouch 16 gb version, and the battery life is okay, it lasts 6-10 hours for me, depending on what I'm doing, but the battery goes down much faster if you've got the brightness up and watching movies.
The touch screen is simply awesome imo.

how about just music? will it last more than 10 ?

I have an Iphone. If I use it only for phone use (calls/texting) it will last for a day or two. If I watch videos or use GPS, it will last only about 8 hours. And you don't have to worry about scratching the screen. Thing is damn near invincible.

The new Firmwire is supposed to aid battery life as well.
