My first job interview in over ten years tomorrow.
Job interview tomorrow.
Edited By oldschool
I just completed 10 years of service and an opportunity has come up for a shift to another division in the company. Instead of working with food for humans, I will be working with food for animals. What's the worst that can happen? If I don't get it, I have a good, stable and well paid job anyway. I can't lose. For that reason alone, I don't feel nervous or stressed.
Wish me luck :-)

Thank you for those kind words. I also wished you luck in your thread :-) " Yo,My close friend used to be a Marine. He's one of the best friends I have. He's working on being a pilot one day...and he will. Don't feel stressed...you're better than most people. "
Maybe my daughter will be working for you one day - as a game designer xD

Same shit - different bucket?" How is feeding animals an upgrade over feeding humans? "
It is a sideways shift. Same pay. I feel like a change and people will always have and feed pets - recession or not. The company I am with is he largest food manufacturer in the world, so it isn't going anywhere.
Good tip :-)
I am just getting my shorts and t-shirt ready as we speak. I should have suggested the bowling alley as the venue xD
i didnt do a interview for my job, since my dad is pretty much the boss, he just said "your hired" so i guess i got my job easily....but best of luck to you sir

I decided at the last minute to go with the suit. I wasn't sure whether to suit up, but Barney convinced me :-)
The dress standard thing is an odd one as I have work clothes that they see me in all the time (business clothes with a subtle company logo and I always wear a tie). Putting on the suit seemed a little pretentious or false. I went there as I said. The interview went well. I stayed confident and on top of it all the way through. No idea what they were thinking though.
There are advantages and disadvantages in internal job applications. Advantages seem obvious - I already know everything there is to know about the company, I know the clients and I know our employees. On the other hand - you can't make up bullshit during the interview when you have 10 years of performance reviews to go over and a multitude of managers to speak to. What will happen will happen.
One of the applicants had a major advantage over me though. She was blonde, pretty and had cleavage. Don't get me wrong, I have cleavage as well, but hairy cleavage apparently is not a plus :-)
I will know the answer next Wednesday.
