Did you guys hear that Chyna is quitting porn to become an English teacher in Japan? I think China would have been more appropriate.

Jerry Lynn wrestled his last match ever tonight. Unfortunately, it was against X-Pac but I won't hold that against him.

Guess I can't embed Daily Motion videos. Well, just go watch some of Lynn's matches with Rob Van Dam.

Just read a thing online that said that Mark Henry possibly got injured at a house show tonight. I also read another thing saying that after the initial fears (They ended his match early) he did a post match angle and left the ring without help.

I went to an ECW reunion show a few years ago and the best match of the night was Jerry Lynn vs. Al Snow. It was great to see two ring technicians go at it, but the best part was the finish. The ref took a bump and, as he was recovering, Al hits the ground with a chair and drops to the floor. He was going to frame Lynn and get him disqualified. Not having any of it, Lynn slams the mat with the chair and drops to the floor. The ref awakens to two men "unconscious" on the floor with a chair between them. Confused, the ref goes to each side of the ring asking the audience who hit who. Every time the ref turns his back to Al and Lynn, they look up to see if the other guy is still playing dead. Eventually, Al kicks Lynn and he stirs enough to get the ref's attention. The ref tries to get Lynn to explain what happened while Al gets Head and hits Lynn from behind for the pinfall.

Anyway, it's my long-winded way of saying I really like/liked Lynn as a wrestler and I hope he continues to train wrestlers. He has so much knowledge and experience that ought to be shared.

New Jack is going to retire in April.

Also, the weather going into Wrestlemania doesn't look good. It's a 55% chance of rain with temperature in the low 40's. Now I'm glad I didn't try to make the drive up there.

i finished tomb raider during tonight's raw and despite it being a game i did not like untill the last 3 hrs it was better than raw this week.
and cena you saying that you will be booed everywhere you go because you cant win the big one, i think they boo you anyway. this weeks end shows that they should never have part timers be the main attraction of mania you cant have a build up match to your main event because the rock simply cant carry out a match. that along with brock hhh im quite possibly anti excited i feel i hate it so much that im sucking enthusiasm of some one else

@krullban: They said nothing and they did it forever. It was everything we've heard before stretched out for almost half an hour. From the tired sports metaphors to the "WELL SOME PEOPLE LIKE ME AND SOME PEOPLE DON'T AND THAT'S OKAY." If you're going to have a segment not involving wrestling on your wrestling show last that long, it better be riveting as fuck and that was exactly the opposite.

I'm with Krullban I thought the last promo tonight was pretty good. Other then that I watched the first hour of the show and turned it off until the last 30 minutes, too bad as I missed Triple H kicking Barrett in the nards.

Ok I think I may be starting to like Brad Maddox

When first seeing all the stuff about Fandango, I was cautious but knew that Curtis was going to be gold with whatever was given to him. Yes, Fandango is super dumb, but him yelling at Jericho "SAY MY NAME" is great because it yet again reveals that he's just a creepy nutcase (ahem, Johnny Curtis). Jericho is going to give him the win at WrestleMania and Fandango will be able to fall into more stories and angles (who's the chick with him, does he actually know how to dance, etc?). He gets really easy heat from the crowd, and when he goes over a legend like Jericho, the crowd is going to hate him more.

Rest of Raw was meh.

Punk/Taker have seemingly reached the high point of their feud.

HHH/Lesnar also have reached the high point.

Nobody even cares about Cena/Rock anymore.

Del Rio/Swagger have really good brawls together. Hopefully their match has the same energy.

WWE has no clue what to do with The Shield going into Mania... hopefully there's something post-mania for them.

I'm not interested in Ryback/Henry other than to see if Ryback can actually lift Henry.

Hell No/Ziggie&BigE needs something else going for it...

Cesaro needs to look like a champion again, same goes to Barrett. Not sure about Cesaro, but Barrett is a future main eventor in my eyes. You need to treat him like one, HHH.

Bioshock Infinite is super good.

@hockeymask27: I don't know who that is, but it looks like he could really use a cape.

I skipped through 90% of Raw, but Cena's 'You didn't beat me, I beat me' speech was pretty rad. The Rock's rebuttal was pretty okay too. My favourite part of wrestling now days is watching Heyman's reactions to Punk's stuff when he goes to far. When he was kind of looking away and saying 'pick it up' when he dropped the urn was great.

Also there is a Samuray/Ricochet sequence in the new PWG teaser that the whole world needs to see. (@ 2:52, but mostly just watch the whole video)

Johnny Curtis vs Jericho is the dream match I never knew I was dreaming for.

Last week completely killed the character for me, but this week, holy shit what a turnaround. I don't know if Jericho was just the perfect choice to put him with, or it was the intensity/insanity of Fandango, but he got me interested

Punk/Taker is easily my most anticipated Wrestlemania match. Punk's promos have been excellent and last night's was no exception. It's funny to see him and Heyman be assholes with the urn and Heyman's reactions are pure gold. It's oddly funny but still intense enough to promote what should be a great match (even if there's no way in Hell that Punk will win).

Fandango is really good at making the crowd hate him and I hope he wins at Wrestlemania because he has SO much heat. They need to capitalize on it and keep him going as a top heel. Because it looks like they're trying to turn everyone else face (damn it, Big Show)

I still like The Shield but the buildup to their match has been absolutely nonsensical, and I couldn't even care about their match last night. I just hope it culminates in another great match with them coming out on top like at TLC.

And they're completely wasting Cesaro's talent by making him lose or look weak all the time and not giving him an interesting Mania match. I'm already bored of Cesaro/Miz because Miz is boring as hell.

I need to rewatch that final segment because I zoned out. Another promo for a match I don't care about, at the end of the too-long show? Can't do it. It's so painfully obvious Cena will win and Rock's promos are getting worse. And this is the main event. Sweet.

Things from Raw this week. Also known as thoughts.

Fandango is still funny to me, and also really good. I'm not fond of the 'you can't wrestle' chants, but I'm a big fan of the stupidly elaborate intro, the near psychotic/insane/narcissist thing he has going for him, and he is getting decent heat from the crowd (and thankfully NOT just because he hasn't wrestled yet.)

The fan in the crowd that keeps raising the numbers for the pinfall counts amused me greatly.

The whole Brock vs Trips thing took a wrong turn. Not that it ever had me hooked, but making a "triple H could end his wrestling career!" angle when Trips already never wrestlers doesn't. mean. shit. Also having one of your bigger matches at Mania being a match we've already seen twice earlier in the year as big matches just feels lazy.

They're not doing enough with The Shield. They're almost everything that they seem like they should be. They're vicious, they're tough, they're smart, but now they're stuck in the exact same story that they've been in SINCE TLC. Now, I don't blame this so much on Mania as I do on them starting this 'teams super friend' story too early. That and for as great as that TLC match against team super friends 1 was, that feels like it should have been the climax of that part of their story and then take it in a different direction, instead of just forcing it to keep stretching out longer and longer. It's a real shame too because The Shield should be making so much more of an impact with who they have and how they compliment each other as a group. "Finally! The Shield gets a taste of their own medicine! This is something we've been waiting for for a long time!" because this hasn't been happening to them for months now.

AJ is smoking hot. Also, the older style of the Walls of Jericho was something I enjoyed seeing, even if I don't think that the match between Ziggler and Chris was particularly great (it wasn't bad, I just know those two can put on a better match than that, but it still served its purpose.)

Why in the bluest of blue fucking hells is Del Rio facing Cesaro? Why does Cesaro, the United States Champion, not have a feud going into Wrestlemania? Why is he having a match that only exists to support a feud that he is in no way apart of? If he wasn't champ, I could why. But he's the freaking US Champ. That said, the Del Rio and Swagger brawls are pretty good.

I thought people were joking when they said the last half hour was dedicated to Cena and The Rock. And then there was half an hour left and they started that segment... what the fuck? I mean, they waste a solid 10 minutes just on intros! The rest of the segment was just bad. It was far too drawn out. Cena talked about shit we already have heard him say over the last few months. All it is about is "winning the big one." Somehow Cena winning the big one for YEARS doesn't mean anything because he didn't win the big one last year, so now he has to continue to win the big one for the rest of this year to make up for it. It's gross. Also, this entire feud seems to exist so that The Rock can tell his life story and to try and get him over again with the WWE fans. That said, Cena showing shades of being a heel reinforces to me that he really should actually become a heel.

Also... new Kaitlyn music. It's still not good.

So yeah, Raw was pretty meh. I could not care less about Rock/Cena or Bork/Trips at this point, and that end segment was a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

However, Faaaahndaaahngoooo is the best thing going, and I am all aboard the hype train for that match with Jericho.

Main Event Cliffsnotes

  • Kane defeated Antonio Cesaro by countering the Neutraliser and hitting the Chokeslam. Daniel Bryan was on commentary and AJ tried to distract Kane.
  • Sheamus was interviewed and said that if his team gets on the same page at Mania, The Shield will have the fight of their lives.
  • The Bella Twins w/Team Rhodes Scholars defeated The Funkadactyls w/Tons of Funk (The new tag name for Tensai and Brodus) when Cody distracted The Funkadactyls and a Bella got a Roll-Up of Doom.

Saturday Morning Slam Cliffsnotes:

  • The announcers were Kofi Kingston and Josh Mathews.
  • 3MB (Mahal and McIntryre) defeated Justin Gabriel and Zack Ryder. After the match 3MB beat them up some more and Kofi came to the rescue.
  • Mick Foley came out and made Kingston/Slater for right now and banned the rest of 3MB.
  • Dolph Ziggler came out to replace Kingston at the announce table.
  • Kofi Kingston defeated Heath Slater.
  • Mark Henry defeated Daniel Bryan. During the match, Bryan wanted to hug it out with Henry, Henry then Bearhugged him.

Smackdown Cliffsnotes.

  • Rock opened the show. He told one of his honest to god true stories about his youth and showed a picture of him as a teen. He then cut a promo about John Cena only to be interrupted by John Laurinaitis. Johnny said that Teddy let him come out and Rock did his who in the blue hell are you? thing. Johnny asked to be in Rock's corner at Mania because they're two peas in a pod (Rock's the People's Champion, Johnny created People Power). Rock asked the crowd if he should accept, they said no, so he hit him with a Spinerbuster and The People's Elbow. Rock then went under the ring, pulled out a giant Hershey chocolate bar, signed it and gave it to a kid.
  • Chris Jericho defeated Wade Barrett with the Codebreaker. After the match, Jericho said that he would have loved to face Wade for the IC title at Mania, but he's facing Fandango instead and called him out. Fandango came out on stage, danced and left.
  • Josh Mathews interviewed Paul Heyman, he said that Lesnar/HHH was must lose for Hunter.
  • The weightlifting segment had Booker and Teddy hosting it and they said that if Ryback or Mark Henry got physical, they would be banned from Mania. Henry did 220 lbs 54 times (it was said to be a new record). Ryback was on his way to beating him, but Henry shoved the bar on his throat. Ryback got helped to the back to close the segment. No, Booker didn't ban Henry for what he did.
  • Daniel Bryan and Kaitlyn w/Kane defeated Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee w/Big E Langston when Kaitlyn speared AJ. Big E tried to interfere, but Kane took him out with a Big Boot.
  • A Shield video aired saying that their Mania opponents don't stand a chance and #BelieveInTheShield.
  • Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter vs The Great Khali w/Hornswoggle and Natalya went to a double count out when Swagger had Khali in The Patriot Lock outside the ring and ignored the ref's count. Ricardo then came out to do a distraction and Del Rio ambushed Swagger and sent him and Colter running.
  • Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show defeated Team Rhodes Scholars and Antonio Cesaro when Sheamus hit The Brogue Kick on Rhodes. After the match, Shield tried to come down, but the faces brought the fight to them and they beat them up in the stands, forcing them to run away. This ended the show.

For Cesaro, he lost the pulling of the straws with Barrett and Kaitlyn, so he gets to not do anything for Mania and becomes important (or goes back to where he was) after the part-timers are gone.

For Barrett, I take it that it's more about building a surprise that the guy who's been losing pulls out a win at Mania or they're going to have Miz squash Barrett at Mania.

About the Spoiler themselves:

I no longer know anything about them as some places listed that the mixed tag was actually Team Hell No and Kaitlyn vs Ziggy/Big E/AJ Lee.

Jericho had an interview with Meltzer and the other guy.

  • Talked a bunch about Robot Combat League. He mostly did it because of curiosity and he was fascinated with the technology on display.
  • Claims that everything he's done 2008 and beyond is his best work of his entire career.
  • Talked a bit about his feud with Shawn Michaels and that he's currently writing another book.
  • The original plan was to work with Ryback, when Jericho toured in Australia plans changed.
  • Jericho pitched a little fit when he was told that he would be working with Fandango for WrestleMania, but he looks at it as a challenge to make it a match where everybody walks away happy.
  • Vince REALLY likes Fandango.
  • Talks about how sound travels very weirdly in stadiums and how it's hard to gage the audience in those matches.
  • Talked a lot about how bright the future is for WWE from The Shield/Cesaro to Bray Wyatt/PAC/Emma in NXT

Well why would he mention the WWE anywhere he appears? It's not like he's the WWE Champion or anything...

I know the reality is probably just that everything he does media wise right now is set up for G.I. Joe and thus since that company is the one that set it all up they don't want him talking about the WWE at all, but, still, really, it paints him in an even worse light for his relationship with how he views wrestling/the WWE.

I know it won't happen, but the only way I see any of this being worth it is if John Cena wins the title from the Rock at Mania and becomes a heel. I know it won't happen. It will NEVER happen. But those shades of him being a smarmy, 'better than you' asshole on Monday night tells me that he could do it and be effective at it, which makes a part of me hope that that's what this will all lead to. It won't, but, one can dream. Because nothing will f'ing come from the Rock through all of this, that's for sure.
