Need a movie for Valentine's Day. It can be a serious romance, but I prefer a romantic comedy. In a nutshell, I'm looking for dude-approved chick flicks.
Recommend a romantic comedy
Like dude approved romantic comedies? Swingers, and basically anything Apatow-related (that's not Year One) is worth a shot- including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. Love Actually is actually really smart for what should be a normal chick flick. Definitely Maybe and The Proposal are also WAY better than they should be mostly because Ryan Reynolds is a funny mothersmurfer but also the scripts for both of the movies are really tight.
EDIT: Here's the opening which is a cheesy 80's pop song music video.
What the hell guys!? Shaun of The Dead, and you should all be ashamed for not mentioning it. What kind of nerds are you *glare*
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is pretty good; I'd also recommend Adventureland, with Jessie Eisenberg. Both movies have some alright comedy bits interspersed with all the coming of age love stuff. And I just thought they were genuinely good movies. Both girls I took to see them enjoyed them quite a bit.
Love Actually
Letters from Julliet (just saw this pretty damn good).
Leap Year
There are so many more i could name, my girlfriend likes romantic comedies and i like anything that has some sort of humor in it.
Valentine's Day? What happened to January? Someone tell me who won the Superbowl?
Watch the british TV series Coupling, its on netflix instant Go through the first season or two which totals about 15 half hour episodes. Make a day of it, it's great. More comedy than romance, however.
On second thought fuck waiting, start now...
It Happened One Night
Black and white movie from the mid 30's. It was the first movie to win all 5 of the big 5 oscars. Fantastic movie!

Punch Drunk Love, but it's a bit obscure, so Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Forgetting Sarah Marshal, and Adventureland are more understandable substitutes (though Eternal Sunshine is also strange, but in a quirky way many can get behind!)
Love Actually is a pretty good choice. Lots of really funny stuff that men and women can laugh at and a lot of romantic stuff as well.
I really like the UK version of Coupling and it is my favorite sit com of all time, but I think it's more funny than romantic.
Good luck
For anyone not familiar with the series Coupling here's a clip entitled "Lesbian Spank Inferno"

Really funny and sweet in a modern way. "
I hear Screened.com is a thing.
To be fair though, there have been good suggestions here. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one that I would second. Also, (500) Days of Summer.
Well if you want something less commy (but still humorous) and more romy and also a movie that's a bit different, I would recommend Turn Left, Turn Right, it's probably my favourite film.
