I'd watch the video if it was available in my country, so I'll just ask this question out of pure speculation -
Are we positive it was an adult who shot the child or was it another child? I ask because the context for discussion should change dramatically based on the answer.

Shit is spiraling out of control. What the fuck is going wrong with people?
I don't know man. The crazies are coming out of the wood works lately. All this terrible shit happening. I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything but it seems like it ramping up and we're getting closer to 12/21/12.
Really intense natural disasters, threats of attacks from Iran, What's happening in Syria, the deficit, all these nutty fucks snapping and going on shooting sprees....
I wonder how many of these recent incidents (2010-2012) happened in the U.S. compared to other countries.

Police reporting as many as 20 children may have been shot. Oh my god.
Fuck. Wonder if it's too hopeful to believe that none of those shots were fatal...
Ugh, well comment under mine proves that it was too hopeful.
Insert speechless response. Seriously though what the hell is wrong with some people.
@Oldirtybearon: If its another child then... damn i would be speechless but seems its an adult.
EDIT: Im speechless in both ways that could have panned out (who the shooter was) but if it really was a kid at that age, in that school then... just what!
Most guns are NOT bought on the black market in these things. They are easily obtained through guns stores. Look at the Dark Knight Rises shooting and Virgina Tech. We very much DO need sensible gun control in this country or nothing will change. You can't point out a crazy person, but you can limited guns. It won't be perfect, nothing is, but if you do nothing, you are making sure this will happen, easily, again.
RT samsteinhp: BREAKING: CBS now reporting 27 dead, incl 14 children in Conneticut school shooting.
Gun law are pretty weak when you can buy almost any gun at gun show without any background check, this is from personal experience. I also order a gun over the internet and shipped it to a gun store and the only thing they did was call for a background check which took less then a minute.

Oh my fucking god.
RT emmagkeller: CBS: Only a few people shot needed to be treated. "The vast majority were dead." newtown

People have always snapped and done violent things, but over the past 20 years they have been able to get their hands on powerful weapons very easily.

Well, fuck.
I just heard 27 dead, 18 were children, according to the Associated Press.

Reuters report. Twenty-seven confirmed dead (not sure how many are children. I assume most). One shooter, two guns, shooter was a father of a student there.
Goddamn it. God fucking damn it.

There are exceptions, buying guns legally is easier than illegally but it's not that more difficult to get it off a black market. If you want to be a criminal then you have nothing to lose. The only people who have to lose with strict gun control are law abiding citizens.
@Mageman: That is absolutely no excuse to try to limit guns to people that use them for ill. If you keep using that excuse for everything, you may as well lay down and let every terrible thing in the world roll over us and do nothing. And guess what, law abiding citizens shouldn't need these guns, its only because we allow them that that is even a thought.
Gun control is a must, and people who think otherwise must be fucking delusional. I can only imagine how the NRA is going to spin this.

But they do need them, it's not moral to disallow someone's right to defend his home.
Switzerland, Austria and Serbia also have quite liberal gun laws yet that does not cause horrible gun crime there, it's an American phenomenon and gun laws have nothing to do with it. As I said, if that guy couldn't get guns legally he would waste an additional 30 min of his pathetic life and get them illegally.

It doesn't matter, they fucked up gun laws long ago, simple as that. You can prevent people from buying guns or the type of guns and how much ammunition they keep but there is still way too many guns in America. It's come to the point where I think every school needs a gun cabinet and teachers that are trained to fire guns it's a sad reality but this is what America is now, Canada has alot of guns but they have a very low murder rate.
I really don't have anything to say. I was already pretty much for harsh gun laws, but I really want to hear a case for soft gun laws after this. You have to start somewhere, and if that means I don't get to keep my gun (yes, it's quite common in Central/NE PA to have many guns) then yes please.

I don't know, but something similar happened in China earlier today (EST). Read as: World is fucked, not just us :|
@Mageman: Or he would go and steal one from a neighbor. Or that very weapon used to "defend one's home" can be turned against you, or your children - or others and their children. The variables are too many and nuanced to just say that the citizenry "needs" access to guns.
If the perpetrator has a gun, and so do you, where does it end? When does the escalation stop, really?

Stricter gun laws = automatic removal of right to defend home?
Does not compute.
