Painfully average, have slipped this semester. Need to sort my shit out.
So College boys and girls, how'd you do this semester?
My exams start in a week, but these are coursees I took:
Securing Information Systems, Business Law, Functional And Logic Programming, Programming Workshop, Principles Of Modern Physics, Algorithms, Introduction To Micro Economics and Digital Architectures.
My next few weeks are going to be hell, wish me luck :)
Biology 1: B-
Introduction to Computer Science (Java): B+
Physics II (E&M): B
Climate: A
Differential Equations: C+
It was a hell of a semester, let me tell you.
" Super varied: Macroeconomics - 42% Behavorial Economics - 56% Software Engineering - 78% Relational Databases - 92% Maybe economics isn't my thing. "Behavioral economics is invariably a shitty class.
98% in Ass Kickery, but only a 42% in Killing Power. Perhaps I should just go to cooking school instead.
" This was my first semester. It had its highs and lows, but I finished up pretty strong with a 3.902. Calculus II: This was surprisingly my hardest class all semester, though I've heard Calculus II is the hardest of the Calc classes. For awhile, I was worried about holding a B, but eventually I was able to push my grade up to an A-. That was my lowest grade this semester. Technical Communication: This was my second hardest class. Lots of memos. It was just very dull, and it was the class I spent the least amount of time on. I was able to pull off an A, though. Computer Science: First real comp sci class. My high school classes were terrible. Learned a lot, did well, got an A. woot. Foundations of Business: Studied Econ, Accounting, and Finance. All pretty easy. Got an A. Leadership: Dumbest class ever. Got an A Creativity 101: This was my honors seminar. It was a really fun class that encouraged us to think outside the box and think creatively. Got an A+! Oorah. "What kind of university lets you take 6 classes in a semester?
Sooooooooo
I slept through my history exam. I couldn't sleep the previous night and wound up only getting like 4 hours, sleeping through my alarm. The teacher actually wrote up a separate exam for me and one other person, which was great. Only one problem: the new exam was 40% geography. I had pretty much planned on bombing the geography section of the original exam, which didn't matter because it was small. This all wouldn't be so bad except that the exam is 50% of our grade for the term. So I got a 37 on the exam, making for a 50-something overall grade.
And I'm failing Latin.
But my other 3 courses are going great :)
Ergonomics and Human Factors Engineering: A
Statistical Methods in Quality Control: C-
Computer Simulation Systems: C-
Management of Technology: B-
Production Management and Inventory Control: B-
The worst semester GPA I've gotten so far, its a 2.8 or something
Overall College GPA: 3.1 (down from 3.2 after semester 6)
and not a single fuck was given that day.
I've been hired post college, so as long as I pass all of my final courses to graduate, I can get a D- in all of them for all i care.
playing and reading about video games is a fairly unproductive hobby for students but not as unproductive as some others, like binge drinking . games are a relatively healthy way to keep yourself out of trouble while in school.
" @nintendoeats: Reminds me of when I missed one of my exams... by a full day. And just like you, I was planning on bombing the Geography section, then I realized that it was a Geography class. Fun times. "Man, I remember sleeping through the midterm for my Marketing class last spring. Made up some bogus excuse about eating a bad burrito and having diarrhea (at which point my teacher cut me off and unconditionally accepted it). It was kinda surreal...
Well since this semester I only took three classes. I got two A's and a A-. Over all I got a 3.8, so I'm pretty happy with that.
I'm on a quarter system, so I finished Fall quarter last month. I got a 3.38 GPA for the quarter, so not bad.
Microeconomics: A
So easy!
Intro to Computer Graphics : B
Not as easy, and I was assigned to a lame group project headed by a couple of grad students, but I still got an acceptable grade.
Senior Game Design Studio I: B+
I forgot to fill out the team evaluations on a few weeks, which led to me losing a few points. Derp. Otherwise, I did quite well.
Two more quarters to go before I graduate! Let's do this!
Art history and animation: 66 and 66 out of 100 on my essays. Pretty pleased with them, argued the relevance of auteur theory in Japanese anime cinema, with specifics towards Otomo, and the Difference between Western and Eastern animation styles, with specific reference to cultural differences, historic context and differing audiences.
Fantasy, Myth, and the Legend of Fairytales: 54 and ?? on my essays. First essay was fucking balls, I didnt try on it, which showed my crappy mark. Second one I thought was tits, so I'll see how that goes.
I start back on the 10th with "Reading the graphic novel" and "Science fiction: technology, science and philosophy" and my thesis proposal which is currently "Posthumanity and cyborgs in Japanese animation". Art schools ftw
