I wanted to get to bed hours ago. I can't stop listening!
Thank you Alex. (BABYMETAL)
Gosh I am so glad everyone is just getting way into these silly-ass Japanese bands I love.
Although not as intensely ~metal~ as BABYMETAL is, PASSPO☆ is certainly worth a look if you're way into 9 girls singing over what's basically Dynasty Warriors music.
Their new album, JEJEJEJET!, was actually one of my favorite releases last year. So silly.
Edit: Also, yes. They're always in those outfits. Every album intro and every on-stage performance is themed to them being flight attendants because why not.
Edit edit: Worth nothing that BABYMETAL also just released their first album, which is a collection of their past singles with a bunch of pretty dope new stuff. You can find it pretty easily if you know where to look~
@demoskinos: Holy shit, this is really good. Maybe it's just because I've been back into Japanese music lately (also started watching anime again after a several year break), but damn.
I don't suppose there's an easy, legitimate, way to get their stuff huh? It's either import the album or download it somewhere sketchy?
It's like the beginning of Brutal Legend but...ok?
That is exactly where my mind when to, it's like when that happened instead of the music dropping into some pop crop it just stayed metal.
Anyways, I don't really like this, but I don't really dislike it either, I think the idea is super cool, I love when people mess around with musical genres, yes, sure, mix heavy metal with choreographed Japanese pop music, that's a really cool idea and I love it whenever anybody experiments with music.
I didn't wind up enjoying any of the songs to a point where I would keep listening to them, but the videos posted were so worth watching, so, that's cool.
This is the first time in my life that I've had too many ears and not enough ice picks to jam into them.
This thread has finally allowed me to identify with this kid
Truth.
This thread has finally allowed me to identify with this kid
what.. I guess... it's... ya.
I am really pleasantly surprised that no one is talking about or insulting their fanbase.as pedophiles or watever Really goodjob Giantbomb community^^
@zolroyce: I think Japan is the country which experiments with this stuff the most in the world. It is always refreshing how they change music in strange ways but still make it awesome^^
I knew about Baby Metal before it was cool.
Yup. Always glad more people are getting into them though.
@starvinggamer: This video sounds just like JPOP with metal distortion overlaid on top. I.... I... I dunno. Still find it fascinating in an anthropological sense at best.
I'm told that in Korea, when they create new KPOP bands, they hold a dance contest.
My initial reaction was just "Fuck!" and then I couldn't stop laughing... I just don't know how I feel about anything anymore.
I actually did now know they were this popular. And they will be performing a concert in Europe this year^^

Not only were they the youngest band performing at Budokan which was visited by over 20k people and was hold over 2 days( they performed 28 songs over 2 days) but their first Album "Babymetal" also topped the number one Itunes metal spot in the US UK and Germany.
Teaser for the DVD set of this Event:
two worst genres of music
Great job generalising entire genres of music, there dude. You're totally the authority on all music forever.
Anyway, everything I've heard from them is hit or miss. That 'Megitsune' track is the best so far, especially with that Traditional Japanese Scale in the bridge (breakdown?) section. Reminds me of Marty Friedman's stuff which is rad.
Give Me Chocolate!!
Atatata taata taatatata zukkyun.
Watatata taata taatatata dokkyun.
Zukyun. Dokyun. Zukyun. Dokyun.
I won’t. Won’t. Won’t. Won’t. Never. Never. Never.
Check-it-out chocolate. Can I have a bit of chocolate?
But my weight worries me a bit these days.
However, chocolate. Can I have a bit of chocolate?
But wait a while! Wait a while! Wait! Wait! Wait!
Atatata taata taatatata zukkyun.
Wadadada daada daadadada dokkyun.
Zukyun. Dokyun. Zukyun. Dokyun.
Yet. Yet. Yet. Yet. Never. Never. Never.
Check-it-out chocolate. I can have a bit of chocolate, can’t I?
But my weight worries me a bit these days.
However, chocolate. I can have a bit of chocolate, can’t I?

So, a bit (heart). I ask you just a little bit.
Quickly chocolate. Please give me chocolate quickly!
Pass me chocolate! Chocolate please!
Check-it-out chocolate. I can have a bit of chocolate, can’t I?
I think so, don’t you? It’s so good. I’ll be so happy and can work hard.
