This Is How Ghostbusters: The Video Game Starts
dude, awesome! since it's been delayed from last year, I hope they took this time to polish the game and really make the gameplay great.
The off-sync voices got to me too. And, because I'm openly more interested in a 3rd movie over a video game, the sort of Video-gamey storytelling also grates on me. If you're wondering what I mean by "Video-gamey storytelling," just take a closer look. Notice how rushed everything in the opening feels. How forced the lines are. The forceful way that early plot points are revealed. I guess this is all me just being super skeptical about this game, but I was hoping to see something I couldn't poke holes at to reassurre me that it really is going to be as awesome as I'm hoping.
Why personally I don't think its gonna be all that great as a Video Game, for Nostalgias sake I have to buy this game.
-- God Bless.
You know what bothers me about this opening cinematic? The credits.
First off, that terrible font, with the names of the actors plastered in the middle of the screen. It just seems so....direct-to-video.
And then there's that writing credit for Ramis and Akroyd,,,,even though, to the best of our knowledge, they "consulted on the script" rather than actually writing it.
The last credit from that intro might as well be "Music by the RZA!", which would convey the same amount of sincerity.
I really like the Ghostbusters movie.....but I'm not sure if I sold on the game.
Ok that just put a huge smile accross my face and I ain't just saying that. The only way I could have a bigger smile is if I took a blade to the sides of my mouth.
The stars look better than they did in 1984! Murray has less wrinkles and I think Ackroyd is thinner. But seriously, the game looks good.
The Columbia Pictures iconography at the opening is the cherry on top.
