i know i already posted this but i got complaints for not putting enough options, so if you admins are going to delete one delete the other.
i think i got most the major games. ps, i picked mass effect
top game of 2010 so far (updated)
I said Red Steel 2, but I've only played that and Bad Company 2, and Red Steel 2 was overall better in my opinion, mainly because of how goddamn innovative it was.
Mass Effect 2 could have been GOTY if it had settled upon a genre and not made itself so fucking "accessible"...Red Dead is good, but I feel like I've played it before...and BFBC2 had a lackluster singleplayer with great multiplayer as long as you didn't get put onto that desert map against 2 god pilots. All in all, I don't feel comfortable giving a vote to any game.
god fucking damnit. i start a new post to aknowledge the ones i forgot.. and then i forget red dead. well im retarded
Mass Effect 2 for me. I wasn't bored at any point during the 35 hours I played it. That being said, I fucking hate mining!!!!
yeah mass effect 2 was great. but here are my problems with it- your choices in 1 didnt effect you as much as i thought they would
" Mass Effect 2 was a steaming pile of overrated shit, just like the first one. "feel free to back up that statement anytime.
I haven't played too many on the list (still working on 2009!), but Mass Effect 2 is my top pick so far. I hope to be able to answer this question more definitely by the end of the year. Of course, by then I'll have trouble getting to all the holiday 2010 games which I'll put off until 2011 and the cycle continues.

I'll be completely honest with you: the first few hours of that game were incredible. And then the monotony set in. The combat didn't improve. Mission structure became repetitive. It just seems to me that all Mass Effect really did well was create a setting and a universe. The gameplay was extremely plodding. It's pretty much the same reason why I hated GTAIV: everything was great except the one thing that mattered the most in a video game, and that was the damn gameplay. If a game can't be a competent, well, game, then it fails to be anything close to game of the year if you ask me. But that's just me, different strokes of different folks, right?" @RsistncE said:

On another note, I chose Alan Wake. The game had extremely solid gameplay and combined with it's presentation (graphics, setting, atmosphere, story etc.) it really was just the best game I've played this year but one of the best I've played in a very long time.
Well, fuck. I can't decide between Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2.
And Red Dead is toward the back of the pack for me.
" @demontium: It's not just Giant Bomb that likes Mass Effect 2. Did you know it got more perfect reviews than Uncharted 2? "And the most perfectly reviewed game is mario galaxy 2.... your point is still invalid.
Giantbomb is clearly leaning towards the xbox side of things but thats fine.
