Just came back from the movies, and all i have to say is that THIS MOVIE is awesome. Pixar has done it again. And they teased Toy Story 3. I think Pixar has the most talented filmmakers. I thought they can't top Wall-E but they did it.

who else saw it? what do you think?

Still haven't seen Wall-E but from what i've heard, it's sublime.

Pixar are a fantastic, pioneering company which I cannot give enough praise for.

Wall-E was a terrible movie IMO second worst Pixar movie ever.
Cars was the worst.

Anyways, UP looks good.

I don't understand how almost all of Pixar's movies are universally positive. Truly the kings of animation? This makes me want Toy Story 3 even more. Guess I have to see WALL-E, and this.

I loved Wall-E's first half or so, but it fell short for me afterward.  I still love Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles thoughPixar is a very talented team.  Their movies are some of the ones I most enjoy going to see alone at the theaters.  I also like how so many movies are utilizing the newly popularized tech for 3D now.  I hope it doesn't become oversaturated.

Wall-E was boring it was a waste of $30 IMO. It was slow in the beginning and it never caught on.

I am watching it now for the first time on Starz and I think the movie is pretty fucking awesome! Making you emotionally attached to a robot is tough, and Pixar got the job done pretty damn well.

I hope you like it.  It's a good movie overall.  I wouldn't say it's worth 30 dollars to own, but I would recommend it to people who are interested in that genre to catch it as a rental or on TV.

Thanks, I did enjoy it! Wall-E got the robot equivalent of sex at the end, good stuff! I agree it is not worth $30, but the movie for sure warrants a watch.

@Infinity

Toy Story is my favorite also. Probably because I was a little kid and the animation style was so fresh.....regardless it was/is awesome.

As far as Up goes, I am sure it is great as are all Pixar films. I will catch it when it hits On Demand.

I agree, Wall-E is a work of art in a league separate that of other Pixar movies. I was pummeled with yelling though when I came out of the theatre of Up and said Wall-E was better.
Yes, Up was 100 times funnier than Wall-E and made me hold back tears but... Wall-E straight-up forward showed how humans killed Earth and was magnificent.

Yeah I agree about Wall-E. It was a pretty disappointing movie, got kind of boring.

I'm not so sure about Up, doesn't really interest me from the previews. Still consider The Incredibles and Toy Story 1 to be their best films.

Not tears of joy, not tears of hating the movie, genuine tears.

Wait!  Up did that?  I'm a cynical-ass bastard, and any movie that can make somebody as a-holish as I cry is a movie usually worth seeing.  You're sure he's that jaded?  ;)  ...cuz if so, I'm gonna catch it.

I cried three times during Up. I actually thought Wall-E was way funnier, but I think that's mostly because Up showed a lot of it's funny things during the previews. Overall though, I liked them both about the same. Which is to say, they're both the best CG movies.

Also, no short this time, at least for me. I saw it in 3D though, so maybe they just had that in 2D? Eh, that seems weird though.

Man, I haven't enjoyed a Pixar movies since Monsters Inc. (although Incredibles was alright). I'll probably catch this on TV sometime. I can't believe they preach to kids that humans will distroy the earth... ugh.

Yeah... I bet you don't. That's part of the problem. I'd rather preach to kids to have faith in people, that we're smart and have the ability to fix our problems, but that's just me.

I keep forgetting how awesome Pixar's films are.  I walk in thinking "This should be alright." But then see the movie and remember that Pixar is one of the best movie studios out there.

every other studio out there making CG movies can bow down and blow pixar, EVERY YEAR. Pixar has an incredibly talented group of people man. Cars is the only one i felt was O.K. but all the rest, excellent and i could watch any of them. Amazing how a movie like Up could be so damn good to a bunch of dudes on a videogame forum, amirite?! its just like jack blacks joke at the oscars, he makes a cg movie each year, takes all of the money he makes for it, and then bets it all on a pixar movie to win the oscar! LMAO!

the other studios have almost zero creativity, they make a film like lets sayyy Robots, and the entire movie is like a bugs life, and the entire movies comedy consists of lame ass robot puns. ice age has a never will interest me. madagascar is has lots of funny things but nothing about it, besides its silly jokes, is memorable at all. we mine as well just be watching the voice actors do skits. what else? that stupid ass fish movie with will smith....the entire movie was nothing but fish puns. it was basically a normal lame script, but they replaced everything with fish related names.
Pixar movies are created from the ground up with the premise in mind. They don't try to make you laugh by constantly goin "hahaha, get it, cause their fish, haha get it!?" Finding Nemo didn't insult our intelligence. i dunno, i just cant say enough about these guys, i completely admire Pixar's staff.

But I'm going to see Up most likely within 24 hrs.  I'm stoked, I'm hearing good things about it.  David Jaffe likes it, Carrie Gouskos likes it, Ryan Davis likes it...
