What are you listening to duders?

I can't stop listening to clipping's newest album. Sometimes I wish I could listen to Death Grips and understand what the hell MC Ride is saying without Rap Genius or something. Since I probably won't get that, clipping is the next best thing, I guess.

I've also been going through Janelle Monae's stuff; kind of surprised I never gave her a chance in the first place. Great mix of sci-fi and R&B/soul. Never thought that combo would work, but here I am, bumpin' songs about The Droid-Rebel Alliance.

@mister_snig: Man, I was so excited for clipping's new album and it kind of let me down. Not that it's bad or anything, it just can't compete with midcity. Body & Blood is goddamn fantastic though.

As for me, I've been listening to mostly ambient and instrumental stuff. It's been mostly Stars of the Lid and the new Wolves in the Throne Room, which isn't all that good but I keep listening to it anyways.

Been checking out this local (ATL) hip=hop/jazz-ish group. Cool shit.

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - Give the People What They Want. It's so good! If you like that Motown sound, check them out.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. This is an old one, but finally was able to get it on vinyl. It's beautiful.

Hayden James is an artist I stumbled over earlier this year. Smooth and relaxing..uh, actually, I lied about the all house thing, I actually have no idea which genre this one fits within. Most would stash it under electronica, but I haven’t to this very day been able to make sense of what electronica actually is. But I digress..Just lean back and let the waves take you ^_^

I've been listening to neil young lately. Besides listening to him in passing on the radio, etc, I never really LISTENED to Neil Young. As a person who plays guitar, I think his guitar playing is completely underrated. I think it's because his stuff isn't as showy as some other famous players from the era. Watching him play the song "old man" on youtube shows that his technique is perfect. He's hitting the right notes with perfect consistence, palm muting at the right time and his picking hand is in a constant, fluid motion. Doesn't look complicated, but it really requires a deft player to pull that stuff off as perfectly as he is.

Lately I've been listening to: Big Rock Candy Mountain, I'll Give You What You Want and Ob La Di, Ob La Da. Yup...

Iggy Pop - The Passenger A classic. Also covered by Siouxie and the Banshees.

Lately, i've been really into sythwave. Perturbator, LazerHawk, Bourgeoisie...ect. The new Opeth album is rocking. Really dig Mandroid Echostar.
