Mine is either yahoo or google, depending on my web browser. Anyone have anything out of the ordinary or does anyone have GB as their home page?

I like having yahoo as it's my e-mail and I can see what's happening in the news, but Giant Bomb is pretty tempting...

Gmail. When I am on other people's browsers I instinctively hit the home button when I want to check my email. Boring, but practical.

Makes sense for this to be my homepage, I spend more time here than any other website.

I was using it before gmail came out, even though I never check yahoo mail account, I still use it for news/weather/sports and so on.

www.giantbomb.com.

Though I doubt you'd know about it, it's pretty hip and obscure.  It's a website about video games.

#25 Posted by tobygw (665 posts) -
@yinstarrunner: Ah yes, I've heard a thing or two about teh video games.

Constant celebrity ads on the WoW homepage made me kinda nauseous, so I decided to go with a much cleaner website.

EDIT: Wide Open West, not World of Warcraft

Giant Bomb.

I've never understood why so many people use google as a homepage.  Just use Chrome.  With Chrome, YOU are the google!

Seriously, chrome's URL/search bar is the best thing to ever happen to internet browsing.

#36 Posted by icarusflies77 (50 posts) -

I use yahoo, but I'm thinking of changing it.

#37 Posted by tobygw (665 posts) -
@TheGremp: Yea this is what I normally use to search. I actually sort of dislike google's auto complete search bar and I'm not a big fan of google instant either.

I used to use the manufacturer whatever games console I was addicted to, but once I got my gaming rig, it sits on Google.

@TheGremp:
Chrome lacks too many native features to be worthwhile for me, like RSS and automatic deletion of all personal data.

@tobygw: I agree wholeheartedly. I hate autocomplete (and turned forms tracking off), and instant annoys me because I can't go back using my back button.

I don't use a homepage. on my main desktop I leave 2-3 firefox windows open at any given day, one has tabs for gmail, google reader, and a couple other sites that I keep open, the other firefox window has my personal home server based tabs. in Chrome I leave open giantbomb and also open up new tabs in when I need to visit other pages than my usual. the third firefox page I leave open is work related stuff but when I have off I try not to leave it open so I don't think about work so much. On my work computer it's basically the same work firefox window and one chrome window for personal sites. On my laptop I usually keep open one firefox window that has one work related window open, one window for my server and any new pages I open I do in chrome.

You all probably don't give a shit about all that, but yea I don't use a homepage, I search through the address bar.
