'tablet' ? are you referring to an art tablet?
if so, what uses? 
 
a cintiq is worth it, but not if u only make powerpoint presentations or something...

give us more info on what you plan to use it for.
 
if its just for a hobby, go with the Pen & Touch Bamboo
 
if your really serious (graphic designer serious) go with an intuos

I've been using my graphite 3 Wacom tablet for something like 7 years. Still does the trick just fine, though I did break the eraser and the grip came off. And I drop the tablet all the time, still works. Not bad for a product made in China.

The wacon graphite tablets are fine for that. I believe the one i have was only around 40 euros.

Ha i've got the same issue with my pen, the rubber they use on them dries out after a some years.

@DanielJW: I'm under the impression that they discontinued the Graphire line. The cheapest tablet i can see on the site where i bought it a good number of years ago is 50 euros (wacom bamboo pen) and that is with a 10 euro discount.
