Winter is nearly upon us

 Wow, it's hard to believe it's almost Winter (December 21). The years/months/weeks/days just blend together so quickly now, don't they? What are you doing this Winter? Also, share your favorite Winter memories here.

I'm hoping for snow and looking forward to Christmas! Yes, I'm so young that I still get pumped for Christmas.

Shoveling sucks, cold weather sucks, but god damn it I love Christmas.

It's been winter for a while over here, I fucking hate blizzards :( but I guess Christmas makes up for it :D

In the Southern Hemisphere it's summer so, go south.

It might almost be Winter here, but it's almost Summer in other parts of the world. That always trips me out.

Winter sucks here in the North East.   
 
Winter always sucks here.  Everyone's all pissed, and the trains run like shit, and parking is impossible.  Plus, for some reason all the tourists from Europe end up coming this time of year.

It's been winter (snow) here since late October, and tomorrow is the last day the sun rises above the horizon until 20th of January. It's rough. But hey, at least it's Christmas soon, and if when the heavy clouds finally clear, we'll probably be able to see the northern lights. I'm looking forward to that. :)

Really? I'm still looking for that snowstorm we were supposed to get several times last week! Can't wait until we get it!

I hate winter. Presents help ease my suffering. But it still sucks and people who like the cold are Demons.

I love winter. I like being inside when it's all cold and rainy/snowy outside with the fire on and a book, game or good film! Aaah, winter! Most of my best memories are from around Christmas eve with friends, unfortunately I only remember snippets. Oh, wrong, last year my boyfriend spent Christmas with me and we sat around playing New Super Mario Bros. with my brother, was awesome. =]
 
This will be the first Christmas with my nephew though. So I'm going to be one of those irritating aunts and make him dress up as a reindeer or something similar. =p

I dunno about you guys but I can go outside and throw a snow ball right now.

Already snowing, thus Winter is already here in Salt Lake. If you need me I'll be skiing down a mountain at high speeds.

In Northeast Ohio here, we've just had one sticking snow in early November.I have a hilly driveway, so the snow has to be cleared and rock-salted constantly. I clear snow on-the-job.;in public places: sidewalks, stairs, etc.and salt them.I get good and wet and cold, but it's good to be working.A miserable season , at best, though.

So was I the only one who read this and immediately thought of the Song of Ice and Fire novels? Oh well, ha. 
 
Yeah, here in Wisconsin the winters can be pretty brutal, but I love a full 4 seasons. Shoveling isn't so bad!

Summer is a comin'...but I'm going to Europe for Christmas, so I get to see this mythical 'snow' everybody talks about.

Americans shouldn't be allowed to bitch about winter.

The winter is here in Sweden. It's cold as shit and I fucking hate it.

Been winter here for a couple of months now

My favorite Winter memories consist of my annual read-through of the entire Calvin & Hobbes collection while drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows. Mmmmmm

I love winter... summer tends to just make me miserable. Bring on the cold! =]
 
Last year we got a pretty amazing snow here on the North Carolina coast, and the last time that happened before was so long ago I can't even remember exactly. Doubt it'll happen again, but one can always hope. For me there's nothing like waking up and looking outside to see everything all snowy for the first time.

I love winter. The heavy rain and the cold weather. Staying inside is a treat because I love to listen to the rain, going outside is a treat because I love to walk in the rain.

I love winter here. We don't get snow but that's A-Ok by me.

It snowed here today! Only a little bit, and none of it was sticking, but snow is always a big deal in Seattle. I'm both scared and excited for more snow to come, possibly tonight. It's like 34 degrees out right now and crazy windy. 
 
I love winter, but I never really do winter activities. Unless drinking tea and trying not to die while driving count. I AM excited to see my family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, though!

it already snowed here and when i got out to my car after work my door was frozen shut so winter is already here.

I love everything about winter, except for awkward family gatherings, which are kind of an acquired taste (I'm appreciating them more now that I'm older)

My winter vacation starts December 4th and goes until the last week in February. I'll be teaching roughly 2 hours a day in the mornings and writing 3 textbooks for use at my college when the semester starts up again in March. Honestly, I'll have a bunch of time on my hands since a lot of my book writing is done. I'm going to finish a few video games in my pile of shame, catch up on some Burn Notice, start watching something else on TV, go for long walks with my dog and maybe buy a guitar.

In most of Canada, winter started months ago. Its just not official until december. =/ 
 
I have a foot and a half of snow on the ground right now, it sucks. -20-25C the last two weeks, not including wind chill.
 
But at least it has been a really mild winter season so far, we usually get our first major snowfall in early october but we had an extra month of decent weather. Of course itl probably snow until April.

I live in England and I really like it when we get some proper snow out here. It's not a super-common occurrence though.

It's been snowing since the 15th or 16th. Can hardly go outside without a jacket on. 

I'm in Australia, I walked outside not long ago straight into beaming sun &34 degrees C (it's almost 8pm). Come Christmas we will have cannonballed into the blistering heat of summer &I hate you all

I have snow, but it's so little that most people are either apathetic to it or kind of pissed off about it. Welcome to the Northwest. 
 
I like winter though, because I like the cold air on my face. Walking through town doing my Christmas shopping in the snow is actually pretty cool.

Winter = Exams

 I barely managed to survive a 32 Celsius day here in Melbourne, Australia (or 89.6 degrees Fahrenheit for you crazy Americans). I've also only ever seen snow twice in my entire life. I'm envious of you all.     

Looking forward to Winter and Christmas. Living on a mountain in North Wales often gets me snowed in. Loads of nice places to walk when its snowed here.

Yep. I went biking this morning to do some errands and when I went to brake, I fell on my ass due to flash freeze. 
 
Now my leg hurts and I can't move.

I hate summer and hot climate. Winter is my favorite time of the year.
