Peter Jackson's King Kong doesn't hold up now, 5 years later.

YOU WIN!!!

I feel the same way.  I couldn't remake my favorite film because I think Francis Ford Coppola would take me out on a boat into the middle of a lake and kill me.

The thing that made Labyrinth was David Bowie so I'm screwed already 'coz nobody can recast Bowie and I certainly don't want to see him dancing around in tight fitting Jodhpurs now

Terminator 2 is perfect the way it is. Still holds up, and is still awesome. James Cameron is king.

Funny how peoples favourite films are all actually old enough to be remade.
I don't really have a favourite movie, but one of my faves has already had that happen.. Poorly.

See, if something's your favourite movie, then why try to remake it? Isn't the original that you love enough?

Sure, a new version doesn't invalidate the old one. It's probably going to suck, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The Crow is already being remade to my unending horror, quite possibly the most baffling remake decision this side of "Hey, let's make a Battlestar Galactica movie, but ignore the recently concluded and widely beloved TV series".

For some reason, I expected you to say Career Opportunities because of your avatar... :)

I like to see Dragonheart to be remade.  One of my favorite movies because of the dragon.  It might have done better with a better storyline and actors.

Don Mancini beat you to it. The re-make is in the works. I'm pumped, to say the least.
