Jungler is pretty fun, Tempest is always awesome, Lunar Lander rocks, fuckin' love Combat, Asteroids, and you can't go wrong with Yars' Revenge.

While I do agree that alot of games are better in the rose-tinted glasses of memories gone by, I think that nostalgia will keep alot of these alive for me :)

Most old school arcade games are about skill, reflexes, and the high score.  Anyone raised on games with a "story" and fancy graphics are probably not going be able to handle them, and not like them.  They're like hardcore minigames.  And today's "hardcore" gamers aren't about minigames.

Road Fighter is a bad game, but it can get fun and challenging. I got that game for the NES.

I think you had to have been there to experience these games for them to mean anything to you.

Combat is pretty awesome

Combat is still one of the best multiplayer games.

Im 30 and these games are very dated for me.  No nostalgia here.  I think my father played these games.  Are all the people that are saying these games are amazing like 40 or older?

I was born in 1986 so all these games are before my time but I still find some of them fun and also want to play them to find out what kind of games my dad played back then. I remember him telling me about him having the highest score in defender at the bowling alley forever.

lol, I grew up playing all these games (my first console was an atari) and even I don't want to play this old shit, lol, I'm not saying that other folks don't genuinely like reliving these old games, but not me, I've got too many good games I need to finish.

I'm 18 and Lunar Lander is awesome, like properly amazing.
