Gentlemen (and Ladies), 
 
Looking at the footage from the first few minutes of GOW3, I noticed Kratos has a max life and mana bar...with all spells and fully unlocked Blades of Athena.  I got a hunch that after you kill Zeus, the game really begins and Kratos will lose his powers or some shit and the real threat will be shown...and the story will really start.   
 
Maybe it's just blind optimism but I really don't want the Gods to be all the bosses and am really hoping Sony has just been showing the intro in the trailers and whatnot. 
 
Anyone else have a similar hunch?

Well, since the game begins right after part 2 ends, yes, he does have max powers. I read the OPM review of the game, and according to that, the reason he loses his powers is because

You find out that Kratos was in the Animus all along.

can u imagine how pissed people would be if that was the end lol 
 
or it turns out to be a dream and its some nerdy little kid being woken up by his mother cause he has to get ready for school
