One last beta weekend then. Hopefully they at least give us the sylvari and asura character creation for that.

Sacreligious question: Does anyone know if this game will feature controller support? I can't seem to get a straight answer on that. I know it's a lot to hope for in an MMO, but it's pretty much the only thing that will determine whether or not I buy the game.

Finally a goddamn date. Completely lost my hype for it, but yeah, looking forward to it.

@BigDaddy81: Nothing's been announced saying it has and none of the beta weekends have supported it. Sure there isn't as many buttons required as your standard MMO but I honestly can't see it happening, at least not an official controller support. Maybe there will be ways to do it but it won't be native.

Great news, was just about to order a new computer as well.

Was super excited about this game when it was announced, but didn't like much of what I played. Hopefully that'll change. 

So ready for this. It's been 5 years since I have been waiting to play this.

I'm pretty sure someone in the guild was using a controller at one point in the BWE. So it should work, I just don't know how well.

I haven't followed this game at all so I'm not really sure why people are so excited for it, but I will probably check this out at some point.

@Heltom92: ANet have been withholding the release date for about 2 years now, instead always saying it'll be released 'when it's done'. Now that they've finally announced a release that isn't far into the future.

@Maystack: Ah that's cool, still need to look into this game more though. It does sound interesting and the fact that there is no sub fee is a big advantage.

Anet have confirmed via Twitter that the early access will start 8.25.12 (as an Englishman it pained me to type it like that but I wanted to keep the consistency.) That gives early access players a whole weekend to sink their teeth into the game :D

Also, I find it funny how after the stress test a lot of us were like "Man, this game is done, why don't they announce a date already?" and then today we get one.

YESSS and that means Pre Purchase early access is 8-25!!!!!

Are they going to erase the characters made in the previous BWE/Stress Tests for BWE 3? I was plannin on rolling a warrior anyway but being able to mess around with my Guardian wouldn't be to bad.

My college starts the year one week earlier than everyone else in the country (and ends two weeks later!). I'll still have a week and a half of unimpeded playtime though. :)
