There was another Halo ass Halo game that was Halo'd. Halo.
This right here is the main and only reason to ever talk about Halo: Reach.
"Before the beginning you know the end." The advertisements were completely true if you have ever been part of the Halo-mania, then you would know how shit will go down in Reach. Not really the specifics, but the whole picture was clear. You were going to watch how Reach falls, or you just knew that Reach was going down. Not until E3 2009 you knew nothing of this cooperative focused Halo game.
The Noble Team, made up of 6 Spartans; Carter, Kat, Jorge, Emile, Jun, and you Noble 6, are investigating on Reach, the Spartan training facility, weird happenings and through the most unsurprising turn of events the Covenant are on Reach. Your team is the first to witness and encounter the Covenant in this full on planetary attack.
You go through 9 campaign missions which vary in difficulty and tone, but throughout the whole game you get to know and love Noble Team. The completely customizable character of Noble 6, both in Campaign and Multiplayer, adds to the implications of this game tenfold. Seeing your character in the cut scenes and getting attached to the team is just great. Don't think that this is a happy-go-lucky, bubblegum and Care Bear type of game, this is a depressing, soul-crushing game.
But that is one of the many features of this game. This is a Halo ass Halo game. The campaign is okay at best, but the turnaround is its multiplayer.
The tweaks and new content of the multiplayer is just phenomenal. I can't really go into detail on how much work went into fixing and improving everything, but that's because they fixed and improved EVERY.THING. From the custom games to the Forge, its just amazing. The level of detail Bungie went to to give us entertainment and variety are outstanding. You could kill yourself in the amount of choices you can do in any and all types of game.
Hours in creating your own levels, days in shooting wave after wave of aliens, months in tea bagging dead bodies, and years in just pure gameplay. Kudos Bungie. The last Halo game Bungie will ever do, and they set the bar so fucking highly, I pity 343 Industries. I have no idea how they can do on this front, but hope that their campaigns will be less run-and-gun, and more holy shit.
The game came out a while ago, but they still have a grasp on that year. 4 DMR shots out of 5.
