IGNs Heavy Rain Review..
Also I read there it's like 8 or so hours long, which is sortof a bummer, but I guess if the outcomes can change as much as they seem, then it could be worth a buy. I want to play this game, but now I'm not certain I want to own it. Either way, it's probably the title I'm most excited for this year. That and Splinter Cell.
" Why are the ass-hats at IGN putting up reviews 2 weeks early? BTW, I loathe IGN and everything they stand for "Why are you pissed off at IGN for putting up some early reviews so people can read about them and decide whether or not they want to buy it?
" Looking forward to picking this up. Even without the high review score I would have picked this up. Why are the ass-hats at IGN putting up reviews 2 weeks early? BTW, I loathe IGN and everything they stand for "Way to hate on Ign because it's "cool" right now. They typically get review exclusives, that's why a lot of their stuff comes out early.

I think the bigger question is why does sony keep sending out review copies so early? It doesn't do much for pre-release momentum is everyone's reviews are off the front page of game sites when the game is actually released. And they seem to do it with all their big games. Hell, it seemed like the Killzone 2 reviews were up nearly a month before release.
Also, I'm curious about what IGN stands for that could inspire "loathing"? Have the editors been talking up the benefits of eugenics, or denying the Holocaust and I just haven't noticed? Last I heard they just talked about games and shit. Sorta like this site, except they have a much higher overhead

" @MildMolasses: I suppose I should have reworded that to express my dislike of the editors rather than the site as a whole. Either way, my opinion of IGN seems to have struck a nerve with some of the GB community. "
I don't even go to ign, so it's not that I have some sort of complex about someone else disliking things that I like. There was just an odd level of hyperbole in your statement that doesn't really make sense since you're talking about website dedicated to videogames. But if you hate the people themselves, then that makes a little more sense
the early review is because Sony set ridiculously early review embargoes. Nothing to do with IGN.
It's dumb for Sony really. I mean it shows great faith in their product, but the hype has come and gone by the time the game releases. Silly.
Ubisoft has ruined this whole early reviews thing for me. Everytime a game gets a good review early, I suspect somethings wrong, even though there most likely isn't.
Video review, for those who care:
Another British review of Heavy Rain, seems like it's definitely worth a try.
While I was buying it regardless of review scores, I was kinda shocked by how well received it was by the press. I thought there would have been some major criticism of the game but these reviewa are certainly encouraging.
they are better than the chutz's at gamespot, brb. plus ign's reviews are generally spot on
