    Simply unmatched

OK let me get some minuses out of the way first:
    - Kid voice actors were really lame.
    - Sometimes the characters pick funny direction to walk in until you move your analogue again to where you want to go.

    That's it.

This game was the most gripping and exciting thing I have ever experienced.

I just sat through it non-stop, 9 hours of gameplay and literally EVERY scene had me on the edge of my seat or at the very least kept me entertained and the best bit? It was all realistic in it's universe.
There was nothing in this game that made me think "pffft, yeah right" and that realism, along with the EXCELLENT interaction is unmatched in any medium.
Seriously, books or movies can't even get close to this in my opinion, if gaming expanded more towards this angle, everyone will be craving the next videogame blockbuster and not movies.
The fact that you know anything can truly happen as the game doesn't protect the main characters makes every dangerous situation tense and exciting.

Everything was designed so perfectly, like the dialogue where you had limited time before saying something but in places where a long pause made sense, the game didn't rush you.
And many many MANY more small touches all over the game shows so much care went into it and it's through that caring they give us something so very very special.

I consider myself somewhat of a tough critic when it comes to crime thrillers as I love reading/ watching those types of stories and this story by any standards was very very good and blew my expectations away.
It was so much more complex, so much more unpredictable and so much more intelligent than I expected.

I can't sum up or express my gratitude towards this experience and how excellent it was, it was simply something out of this world.

    10/10.

This review is a little late, but hey, why not.  First thing's first, I'm very surprised (in the good way) that Heavy Rain has sold as many units as it has, because ahead of time it seemed it was going to score big with critics but not manage to achieve commercial success. Well done to the gaming nation for giving something new a try, whether they liked it or not. It's nice to see new IP's do well, rather than sequels galore. In the simplest of terms this game is unlike anything you've played be...

All that is old is new again. A game comprised entirely of quick-time events (a concept that hasn’t been funky fly since Shenmue) combined with the hunt for a Jigsaw-like killer (imitating a movie that hasn’t been interesting since…well the first one), coupled with Resident Evil-like walking controls (which have never been cool.) Throw in the most daring attempt to climb the uncanny valley to date and you have a game that really, really should not have any claim to relevance in t...
