Founded in 2005 and located in Alpharetta, Georgia, Hi-Rez Studios developed the MMO Global Agenda and the free-to-play FPS Tribes Ascend.

Hi-Rez Studios released their first game, Global Agenda, on February 1st, 2010. The game was met with mixed reviews, receiving a 71 out of 100 on Metacritic.com.

In October of 2010 the company announced they had acquired the Tribes franchise from InstantAction, and are developing Tribes Universe. In March 2011, the company announced that they are developing Tribes Ascend, a non-MMO free-to-play FPS which will act as a predecessor to Tribes Unvierse. Tribes Ascend was officially released April 12th, 2012.
