I super fucked up the last two of these.

The sixth game in IO Interactive's stealth murder franchise, simply titled Hitman, adopts an episodic design which continually introduces new assassination contracts for players to undertake.
Elusive Target central Season Finale
@cthomer5000: I felt it was the exact opposite. The woman is only alone for a second or two, after her phone call as she's walking into the room with all the guards. The man eventually walks out to the garden over to the ledge where the curator kills himself and stays there for like a minute.
Totally fucked this one up at the end when a guard I somehow missed saw me stick the guy with the needle. Had an SA up to that point too and no problems with the girl.
I was so shocked when I saw the word "combat" that I froze like chump and was immediately wasted. FAILED!!
First elusive for me that I've failed. I was bummed at first, but it was bound to happen eventually. Damn this game is good. No game has held my attention for this long in ages.
The new Elusive Target (The Bookkeeper) will go live in Colorado later today. I noticed this interesting bit of text on the Hitman website:
The below image shows all of the suits that can be unlocked through Elusive Targets and the requirements for earning them. When you have unlocked a suit, it will be added to your inventory and can be used in all locations and contracts that allow you to select a starting suit. This new reward structure was introduced on November 18 with Elusive Target 14 and if that was the first ET that you completed, you had the possibility to unlock all of the rewards. If you started playing Elusive Targets after ET 14, or if you have missed/failed too many, you won't be able to unlock all of the rewards. Make sure to aim for the Silent Assassin rating with this Elusive Target if you want to make sure you unlock the prestigious Winter Suit.
It sounds like the Elusive Targets (at least for season 1) are winding down, and if you miss any Silent Assassin ratings going forward, you won't be able to unlock the Winter Suit. Sooo....5 more Elusive Targets?
@baconhound: Oh man I really hope that's not what that means. Seems very possible though; they gotta end sometime, right? I picked this up during the Steam winter sale and my first elusive was The Chameleon. Also, only one ET for Hokkaido (that I totally bungled)? That's rough.
The Bookkeeper is going to be tough. I only followed him around for one loop, and didn't see him alone. Ever.
With the current elusive target I managed to get SA on it by rigging a propane tank along the bookkeeper's path , arming it with a suppressed pistol shot and hitting it again with a sniper shot from the water tower. I waited until the the target was just close enough to the tank in a position where none of his armed guards were close enough to take a hit from the blast. It took some planning and patience but it worked out. It ended up registering as an accident kill.
@lkpower: Yeah, I did the same exact thing as you.
I had followed him around for a while 'cause poison is my preferred method of elimination, but this guy is never alone and only goes inside the house—a beehive of activity, and I didn't feel comfortable in there. Started as the garage technician, and nabbed a propane flask from the large shed that Rose washes his hands in. I set that flask in front of one of the trucks that faces the main road and went up to the water tower and shot it once with a sniper rifle. When he came around again I popped it again (timing is a little tricky) and managed to only take him out.
Now I try to do these with little to no outside assistance, but after my frustrating failure during "The Surgeons" I ended up looking up where his ledger was. Not before trying to find it first though! At first I panicked because I thought it was that tablet he has with him (it looks just like it) and maybe I blew it up or one of his goons had scooped it up when they body-bagged him. So, sure, it's in Rose's safe. Whatever (he just got there, how does that make sense?!). After getting the old "sweaty palms" cause Rose, Graves, AND the Bookkeeper's guards were in the house all at the same time, I went into Rose's room and took out and hid that one idiot who leans out the window and went to open the safe...realizing that I didn't have a key, lock pick or crowbar. Ended up having to Google where the crowbar was cause I couldn't figure it out (why would a fucking garage not have one? I knew there was one in the barn but the way I get the point man disguise is a little tricky) came back, grabbed the ledger. Silent Assassin. That's only my second one and my fifth elusive overall.
Fucked up my SA in such a shitty way. Did everything great, easy as fuck, blew the dude up, got the ledger, about to exit and one of the guards in the house is coming up the stairs so I don't see him on the minimap and we run into each other at the top and he sees through my disguise. So fucking lame. First one I've not got SA on :(
@alexw00d: I learnt my lesson by using Instinct mode every time I go up or down stairs to check for any white dots before I proceed. It sucks that the mini-map doesn't keep track of people above or below you but at least Instinct mode mitigates this somewhat.
I completely screwed this one up. What a mess. I got caught trespassing and then basically the whole camp started to open fire on me.
@dr_monocle: I was confused about the ledger too. I assumed it had to be behind a locked door so Rose's room. When I saw the safe in rose's room I knew that had to be it. This was one of the weaker elusive targets IMO. Not a lot of room for error and really only one way to get SA (accident explosive kill) The propane tank method feels a bit cheap but it works. Other targets have been better with more opportunities for accident kills. That being said I guess not all of the elusive targets can be great.
@lkpower: Yeah, this and the other ET in Colorado (The Chameleon) were pretty strict in terms of opportunities/how you had to take them out. I think that's just a function of the way Colorado's design is though. It's so much more hostile than any other map. There are very few places where I feel like I can take a breather and plan my strategy; it's as gated as Hokkaido is without the areas you can just hang out in.
I guess this board is kinda dead, huh. Well, whatever, seems like they're probably winding down on season 1 stuff. Anyway:
This contract (The Paparazzo) is easy, a little boring, and a little annoying if you're short on patience.
Started as the stylist and after following him around a couple of times I realized that I would have to get rid of his single "escort" guard if I wanted SA on this. Went into the side storage closet by where the two stylists are gawking at the picture of Helmut and turned the vacuum on to pull the guard from the hall, knocked him out, and stashed him in the closet. Then when the target and his escort came into the hall I coined the escort over close enough to hear the vacuum and did the same to him. Then I waited, and waited, and..........waited. You have to wait for him to finish his loop and start again when he re-enters the hall. This time while he's talking to the two guards I turned the faucet on (there's that girl puking in there right at the start which is why I waited) and that pulls him for some reason. Knocked him out and made sure that no one else was going to mysteriously come in to check on him (AI behavior can get weird some times and I want that dang winter suit) and shot him with the subsonic pistol. Left through the front door and got SA. My 5th elusive (only third SA) so I got the Absolution suit which was nice. I still love doing these.
@dr_monocle: I've fallen off Hitman for the moment simply due to time pressures (I've fallen off gaming generally at the moment). I want to get back to it, but the limited times run of elusive targets means I've now missed most
@captain_insano: Yeah, and it doesn't help that there are a ton of good games out right now. I think it's cool they're still supporting the game. They add escalations every month too.
This guy is pretty easy if you have the time to jump in real quick.
@dr_monocle: Yea I've not bothered with the past few Elusives, I'm just burned out on the maps. Still very eager for Season 2 though.
I'm such a professional hitman. I was going to syringe him but hit the wrong button because I haven't played HITMAN in a while so I accidentally sedated him in the main room full of hundreds of people. So I panicked, snapped his neck, ran like hell until I found stairs to the basement and escaped out near the kitchen.
I just did it now so that I could watch Lang's stream. I didn't bother with SA this time, just sniped him from the 2nd floor balcony while he smoked a cigarette. Had to clean out that room which was easy enough because you can just turn on the vacuum and pull the two guys into the side room one at a time.
This was my 14th Elusive Target (1 fail, the rest missed). I wish they would release more unlockables. It maxes out at 5 SA and 13 Elusive Targets, plus the location specific suits which you get from doing one in each. I've got all that shit. Still fun though.
Sweet. Got the silent assassin and unlocked the Winter Suit. Been after that for the last couple of targets.

I had the exact same strategy except for the life of me I couldn't lure him into a room. I ended up saying fuck it, walked up to the second floor and dropped a speaker on him as he walked to the outdoor area next to the bar room.
@probablytuna: Ugh...of course I forgot about the speaker. That would've made things so much easier.
@dr_monocle: You still got SA though, so that's alright! I didn't think the speaker would work cause in other ETs they've made it so the targets either walk around that path or they don't stop at the drop zone so you gotta time it perfectly.
@probablytuna: Yeah that's true. I think I had just done the speaker kill with Novikov for Professional a month ago too. But, like you said, job was done regardless.
@brad@danryckert Guys, we need a East/West video for this!
I do wonder if they're going to offer any "Best of" targets after this or if there'll just be Escalation missions 'till the season 2 (pressumedly) appears one day.
Well this is going to be my first elusive target, having only got the game when it was on sale a few weeks back, looking forward to it though and hoping we don't have to wait too long for season 2.
@brad@danryckert Guys, we need a East/West video for this!
Yeah I'm hoping they do a video as well.
I should replay through this game and do this elusive target. I came to Hitman late and played through each mission once, with the intention of going back again. If I'm ever going to do that, now seems like a good time.
@brad@danryckert Guys, we need a East/West video for this!
I totally agree. The friendly elusive target competitions led to some great videos on the site (doctor sniper the sniper doctor is a classic)
@brad@danryckert Guys, we need a East/West video for this!
Hitman gave the site so much content, I think they need to give the first season a proper send off and what better way than this?
