Idigicon Limited in its current form was founded in 1985 under the name CDS Software Ltd by current owner Giles Hunter. However, the company began in the video game business by publishing a number of ZX Spectrum games in the early 1980s while known as CDS Microsystems.
In 1988, the company (under the name CDS Software) changed its name to Nimrod Holdings Ltd, which it would then go on to change in 1992 to Guildhall Leisure Services and finally to Idigicon Limited in 2002.
