    Overview

In sports games it is common to have in-game advertisements lining the edges of the playing field. Racing games often have real products advertised on billboards. Some games have implemented dynamic in-game advertising, which allows the advertisements in a game to be updated for players connected to the internet. For a time, this concept was considered to be the future of video game revenue, but it has since fallen out of the spotlight despite continuing to be featured in modern games.
