Assault and Battery (get it?) *ZAP*

*Disclaimer* I am reviewing the game based on the demo*
Yes, yes I know the demo can't possibly give me the whole breadth and width of the amazing experience that is bla bla bla.

Anyhow, I loved the intro to the game. I love the art style. I am not enamored with the controls or the fighting.
Granted, that the demo amounting to little more than an ESCORT MISSION of a #!!@#@#! train did little to excite me.
The protagonist's powers seem underwhelming. He tosses little snowball sized globes of electricity ad infinitum.
He has the option to heal by jump starting people's hearts, suck the life out of them, or put electric cuffs on them. Ok, how about letting me COMBINE all of the above? How about, I heal a dude, cuff him, THEN suck the life out of him for bonus points.

The controls in my opinion were a little janky. I guess I was hoping more along the lines of an Assassin's Creed control setup where you point the guy in the general direction and he will scale, jump, etc. I had a hard time controlling Cole and getting him to scramble up the side of a bridge/train platform to get back to the aforementioned train. Additionally, there will be times when you are fighting some goons and the camera seems to pan in on YOU instead of panning out to see who the hell just ganked me. It was very frustrating. After playing the demo for an hour or so, I put down my controller and asked myself the key question: when is the fun going to start?

I think I will be giving this a pass. There just is not enough there to keep me interested. I wish developers like Sucker Punch/BioWare would stop making these games where your choices are pretty binary in terms of alignment. For example, in KOTOR you are rewarded for playing a supremely virtuous character or an ultimate villain. There does not seem to be a reward for playing middle of the road, when it comes to unlocking cool abilities or LOOKS (halos.etc) for your character. Life is not binary- black/white, there is a lot of grey. Please let me dabble in it. Also, let me know when the fun starts ok Cole? ;)

"Do I want them to love me...or fear me?" That quote and title up there represents a lot about what makes inFAMOUS, well inFAMOUS. It is an open world sandbox game by Sucker Punch Productions. Does that ring any bells? Hopefully you do recall something, as those guys at Sucker Punch developed the Sly Cooper games back on the PS2. So there is a bit of a pedigree going into this title. inFAMOUS is the story of Cole McGrath, an ordinary joe who works as a bike messenger. One day he finds himself de...

A Great Start for a Promising Franchise 0

So many Emperor Palpatine references to make...Sucker Punch’s new, PS3 exclusive interactive comic book adventure, inFamous, is an easy game to love and one that leaves you breathless at the end eagerly awaiting another installment. Taking the GTA model of open world exploration and questing within a huge, living city, inFamous puts you in the shoes of the newly super-powered Cole McGrath and turns you loose in to wreak havoc or seek redemption as you see fit. The gameplay experience in inFamou...
