I live in Norway and just stopped playing it. It showed up about the same time as in the US for me, and I downloaded it (slowly) shortly after that.

Must be specific EU regions then, which is a shame.

Have you tried this yourself? It's an unnecessary hassle but I'm willing to go through it if it works.

I was going to buy trenched on a US account but now I can't be bothered, it'll come me more and I just don't want to give microsoft more money because they messed up the cert in the UK. If this is pegi's doing i'm going to ....um....write an angry post about it. SO. THERE.

@mracoon: you can buy 1600 points on amazon, or you can set up a paypal account to pay for it. but it's going to cost you more to do that. I've decide I'm not going to pay MORE to MS for there cock up. I'm going to be annoyed and sulk and ill just wait.

Nice of them to give us this news on the day it's supposed to be released. Especially since this is the kind of thing I'm sure they knew about far in advance.

Ok, I've created a fake US account using Xbox.com and downloaded the trial version of Trenched. I'm going to retrieve that account using my 360 and it should download the trial and then I'll play it with my normal account and unlock it (as I already have points on that). Let's see if this works.

Hate to break it to you, but thaat isn't going to work, you'll be able to play the trail, but cant buy it using a uk account.

The game is out in Norway so it can't be a PEGI issue.

Yeah I'm from Denmark and we don't have it either, even though Norway does and we usually get game releases together as a sort of "Scandinavian" region.

there are no nazi's in this game, they have no difficulty speaking of WW1

So the US is first to the fight, Australia/NZ have joined, and Europe are the reluctant latecomers - this release is WW1 in reverse.

Maybe it's an Xbox approval thing like what they talked about on the day 1 podcast from E3?

They have very strict certification rules after all. I had a friend working on Kane & Lynch 2 who had to proof-read all text in multiplayer to make sure that all instances of the word "Xbox LIVE" had LIVE in caps, so it wouldn't get dismissed by their certification office.

Releasing games on Xbox sounds like taking a drivers exam every time.

If that's the case it really highlights how dated/flawed the approval process is for digital content, considering the game is already out in other continents.

I've been thinking about why it may have been delayed. You know the saluting system? Maybe they put in an option for a Nazi salute (maybe accidentally, not realizing what a Nazi salute exactly is, or maybe as some sort of joke) and that's why it's not been released. Nazi symbolism is still banned in much of Europe & is a pretty sensitive issue. That could certainly lead to the game being delayed.

Or maybe I'm barking completely up the wrong tree. In fact, I'm probably completely barking up the wrong tree.

If that were the case though, wouldn't PEGI or whoever have shot it down outright the moment they saw it? The US/EU version's can't be any different from each other. It's not like someone kicked out the power cable while they were uploading it. "delayed in some regions" is total bullshit. Because it's delayed in the whole of Europe. Bastard Norwegians not being in the EU...
