One of the best RPG's on the Xbox
If you're looking for a great RPG for the original Xbox then look no further than Jade Empire. From the makers of Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect and Dragon Age comes an RPG set in an ancient China styled fictional kingdom. You can play as up to 6 different characters, (7 if you get the limited edition version). The gameplay is very similar to the other franchises made by BioWare. Choose your own path of good or evil, complete quests and level up. The combat is free form allowing you to move around and perform moves at your own will. The graphics are excellent even to this day with very beautiful and vibrant settings, well done character models and the motion captured animations are spot on. The story and lore in Jade Empire is very in depth with lots of side content to do. Jade Empire is around 20-30 hours long depending on how much side content you complete and how much lore you read up on. The voice acting is very well done and the sound and music in the game are beautifully orchestrated. There are lots of different powers and demon forms to gain throughout the game as well. Throughout the game you can obtain up to 10 unique followers with their own special skills and backstories. Now to the negatives, the game can seem tedious sometimes with quite a bit of backtracking through areas at times. There are quite a lot of load times that take a little to get through, but not too painstakingly bad. The framerate can have issues at times, but it's nothing too bad (at least for me it wasn't). Other than these little gripes the game is almost perfect in my opinion. Plus the game has quite a bit of replay value going through as the other characters, choosing different dialogue options and utilizing and upgrading different powers and such. This is a definite must own for any fan of RPG's.
