    Jurassic Park: Operation AWESOME!

When i first played JPOG i wasn't terribly impressed. It took me a while to realize that it really was a great sim game. the main aim of the game is to create a theme park, or zoo that instead of rides and animals, has living breathing dinosaurs. It isnt perfect, but there is enough variety to keep you coming back and playing again and again, in different scenarios.

The game has a number of different modes; a story mode, which gives the player a series of tasks to complete that have very light story elements to, so there is no real plot or any interesting characters. There is also a challenge mode that lets you build a park with specific requirements given to you by the game. but perhaps the most entertaining mode is the operation genesis mode, which focuses on building a park from the ground up, making money and researching new technology and new dinosaurs to be put on display in the park. The story mode and challenge mode are really just 'training wheels' for the genesis mode.

Building a park can be a bit slow at first, but once you start to make a bit more money and build better attractions and research new dinosaurs it starts to speed up. Your park is rated with a 5 star popularity rating that gives you feedback on how well known your park is, and you can always see how many people are in your park, as well as what they think.

The visitors to your park have a number of requirements like the basic human needs, eating drinking and pooping...... so you'll have to cater to those. But there are also some more specific needs depending on what type of person they are. there are four categories of visitors, Dino nerds, thrill seekers, fun lovers and mainstream. to keep the dino nerds happy you'll have to make enclosures that are scientifically accurate, with dinosaurs that come from the same time period (you can find what period each dinosaur is from by looking in the dinopedia). thrill seekers want, you guest it, thrills, which can be achieved by putting dangerous dinosaurs in with other dangerous dinosaurs etc. Fun lovers like lots of herbivores frolicking together in the grass in groups, without the threat of a large set of jaws eating them up. And mainstream is basically a mix of the other 3, so their pretty easy to please.

overall Jurassic Park Operation Genesis is a great game that will keep you entertained for hours and hours, until you've done all there is to do, and there is quite a lot if you experiment with different park types.
