    Kirby's Epic Yarn

Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Oct 14, 2010

Kirby's first console outing since Kirby Air Ride sees our lovable pink hero using the power of magical yarn, rather than his usual inhaling abilities, to explore a world made of arts and crafts.

Something about this games music and narrative...

Does this games music or story telling remind anyone of being a kid and watching Mr. Dressup or Mr. Rogers, Book Mice or to a lesser degree Fred Penner? I've been watching my fiancee playing this and I'm just sitting listening to the music and the storyteller and something about it just sucks you in.

Also to anyone who has played it, does the narrator sound familiar to anyone? It's been on my mind but can't seam to pinpoint the voice.

The only thing in your post I recognized was Mr. Rogers. Who the hell are all those other people?

@zityz: I'm pretty sure Mr. Dress-up and Fred Penner were Canadian things, duder. No one outside of our fine country is going to get those references. XD

As for Kirby's resemblance to said children's performers, I can't say, as I've yet to play it.

I don't recognize any of those things except Mr. Rogers, and I do not care for Mr. Rogers... he bores me.

The narration really gives off the feel of a dad telling his kids a bedtime story that he's making up as he goes, so I definitely get what you mean  ; it just has a really soothing, warm, even "clean" vibe to it.

Mr. Dress-up sounds perverted. Sounds like a game a pedophile would make up.

Mr. Dressup? I totally forgot about Mr. Dressup. Lessee what Wikipedia says... Oh, fuck yeah! Casey and Finnegan!

But yeah, Mr. Dressup and Fred Penner are Canadian things, so don't expect anyone to know what you're talking about. :/

The narrator does remind me of something from PBS, like mr. rogers or thomas the tank engine.  I don't know about the music reminding me as much about that stuff but DAMN i love all the music in that game

I can't think of Mr Rogers in the same way after The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.

I appreciate all the non-Canadians in this thread who are getting confused.

@Bones8677: Mr. Dressup was basically a Canadian Mr. Rogers, but he had a bunch of costumes, hence "Dressup".
