Lakilester is the last character that joins Mario's party in Paper Mario. Lakilester is a Lakitu who abandons Bowser and joins Mario. His special skill is his ability to float over harmful objects like spikes and lava.

Lakilester, also known as Spike, is met in Flower Fields at first as an enemy. He works for the boss of that area, Huff N. Puff initially and challenges Mario to a duel. After Lakilester loses that duel he turns traitor and joins Mario. He has a bit of an identity crisis, trying to change himself constantly but keeps up his cool guy facade. He has a girlfriend named Lakilulu who tries to protect him. In the field, Lakilester will put Mario into his cloud, nearly doubling Mario's running speed and allowing him to traverse over spikes and lava. In battle Lakilester is a useful companion with his ability to throw Spiney eggs.
