Overview
Masao Inaba is a player character in the original Persona and, like the other player characters, a student at St. Hermelin High School. Like his friends, he awakens to the power of Persona after participating in a game he assumes to be an urban legend prank. In the North American localization of the original PlayStation game, Revelations: Persona, his name was changed to "Mark" and all of his artwork was altered or replaced to make him African American. In the PSP remake of the game, the original Japanese elements were kept intact for the localization.
Masao is only playable during the game's primary SEBEC story route. If the player chooses to pursue the Snow Queen quest instead, he is absent for the bulk of the game. The Snow Queen quest was excised from the North American version of the original PS1 release.
Trivia
Masao shares his surname "Inaba" with the setting of Persona 4.
