" Are you happy with Mass Effect 2's ending? Who died in your game? I thought the ending was alright aside from the final boss which was kinda unnecessary. I also chose to save the Collector's Station. "

You can make it so that nobody dies, just get all the ship upgrades and loyalties and choose the right people for the specialization teams.

I loved the ending. And I completely stand by my choice to blow up the collector station. Giving Cerberus reaper tech would just cause the humans to do exactly what the Protheans did - build a reaper of their own, then get obliterated.

Oh, and I heard sometimes Mordin will just die. He's the only character that will just randomly die on the alternate team, so leave him in your Collector-killing party to be safe.

I only lost the caputured crew since I didn't trust sparing someone to escort them back. Too bad I'll miss Kelly .

I liked the ending. Tali died because I sided with Legion though, which kind of pissed me off. Oh well. I guess I will get that achievement for saving everyone on my next playthrough.

As for the giant human terminator looking reaper, I used the M230-Cain (Nuke Gun) on it. Took out about 70% of it's health in one blow. That thing is kind of overpowered.

@ArbitraryWater:  Damn... I should have used that instead of the  Grenade launcher. Oh well. I did well enough.

I did the opposite. I assume it gave paragon/renegade options to gain Jack's loyalty back?

@EpicSteve:  it does, but you have to be a higher paragon/renegade than I was to do so.

Which sucked. I sided with Jack because I thought Miranda would be more mature. Nope. Everytime I walked in she was like, "Why don't you talk to your friend Jack". Woman.

Yeah although I found it surprisingly easy, not to say it was too easy I just fought way more difficult battles earlier in the game, but then I didn't really do much of the side stuff until towards the end and I bought/researched a load of upgrades - so thinking about it that's probably why.

As for human reapers I thought the game suggested pretty strongly that the reapers grow and evolve by allowing organics to ascend and be incorporated into the reapers, the destruction of Sovereign proved humanity's worth.

Oh yeah and Tali died shutting the door after I put so much effort into preventing her from being cook inside the vents. I saved the station.

No deaths, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED fighting the huge Terminator skeleton at the end, and I chose to save the Collector station. If the Illusive man uses it against me in ME3, I'll destory him. It's what Shepperd does.

I liked the ending very much. The giant reaper cyborg took me off guard and scared the shit out of me.

And it explained perfectly the motives of the Reapers. They are very survivalistic and need to harvest large amounts of organic beings to keep evolving and reproducing. Though the question remains as to how the creation of this reaper was going to aid the reapers. They must have a backup plan for returning to the galaxy.

@withateethuh: I figured their backup plan for returning to the galaxy was to just travel and that all defeating Sovereign did was buy the galaxy some time by stopping them from being able to jump straight to the Citadel and use its records to find every other space-faring species. I saw the plot of ME2 more as the Reapers just getting on with what they do, and perhaps creating the human reaper before a full scale invasion was merely to minimise losses since humanity had already destroyed one reaper.

The ending was extremely satisfying. And no one died.

    Vents: Tali
    First Squad: Miranda
    Shields: Jack
    Second Squad: Garrus
    Escort: Grunt

Finished the last boss with Miranda and Jacob.

I was a little surprised though from the people saying the game is 45 hours. I beat it in 26 and I did EVERYTHING that I could possibly find. I either missed a lot of stuff or people exaggerated.

I just completed in a little less than 40 hours. I wouldn't say people are exaggerating.

I won! No-one died, and I saved the crew members.

    Vents: Legion
    First Squad: Miranda
    Shields: Jack
    Second Squad: Miranda
    Escort: Zaeed
    Final Team: Garrus and Tali

SO awesome! That ending sequence was really tense. But I didn't blow up the station, so I'm going to re-play it and do it again.

I did it in 20, and that was a few side missions while on Omega/Illium and everyone's loyalty mission. I was rather upset when it finished.

True. Mass Effect 2 did lack in the sense that it didn't have a specific enemy, but a group.

I went into the suicide mission without looking at any of the guide sorta things. Man am I glad I decided to upgrade the Normandy at the last second. Nobody died and I destroyed the collector's station.

So...the human reaper would have been used....for generations after they killed off the universe or would it be used for the current plan of extinction.

So was sovereign a reaper built from an extinct race?

I also felt their was no....communicaiton between the enemy and shepard. Which i thought was great thing Bioware did for ME1. Talking to your enemies and understanding what is happening

Saved the crew in time, all members survived and I destroyed the station after killing the T-800XL. Had Normandy and all special weapon upgrades, maxed out armor and shield tech, accompanied with Geth shielding.

I found the ending alright, I did miss a stronger antagonist though... That Harbinger dude could have been more in your face at that end. Maybe take over the T-800 and really screw things up or something. I dunnow. He just popped in everywhere but all he did was "HEY SHEPARD! *incinerated* BYE SHEPARD!".

Thats a lot of Reapers in the end :P

Anyway awesome ending to an awesome game. Beat it in 39 hours, did all personal quests, all side missions (I have all the planets discovered), got all but 1 upgrade (the 90k credit health one from Illium), nobody died and i blew up the collector base... Martin Sheen wasnt happy. And I got it on with Miranda, and possibly Kelly? She did feed my fish after that one night... :P

My only complaint? That Miranda (or whoever you had a relationship with I guess) isn't standing by your side when Sheppard is looking out the window, that would have been a great visual..in fact she wasnt even in the ending for me, damn it.

So the reapers were using the collectors to gather thousands of humans in order to collect what? DNA? lot's of DNA? Really? To Make a giant Robot Human ?

So were they going to frame humans with a human reaper or something?  Have kinky Reaper relations with it?

The story in  game is a non-event , not much happens, you could pretty cut out ME2 and jump straight into ME3 really.  All in all ME2 is more a collection of short stories.
