I keep hearing how the 360 version gets special bonuses the pc version doesn't and I'm not sure what they are talking about. Its not the preorder bonuses because those apply to both. I want to know this because if the xbox has an advantage then I'm getting that over the pc version.

The ability to not have to... install it? Shit I dunno, they're both more or less the same I think.

Is there a collector's edition for the PC? Sometimes they skip those, so maybe it's that.

There is a digital deluxe PC version. The only thing you are missing is all the physical packaging.

Wherever he heard that, he should stick to more legitimate sources like that one site called "sizeable explosive device". I think that rumor is utter BS and/or flamebait.

Yeah well, if you are in it purely for the achievements, then by all means, get the XBox version.

That makes sense. I would like to think the PC version of Mass Effect had stat tracking though.

The achievements in the first game actually unlocked bonuses, for example if you got the Wrex ally achievement you'd get enhanced health regeneration, etc.

I don't think this has anything to do with the achievements.  They've said having a level 60 character and being maxed out paragon/renegade will be recognised and certain other things will start you with better equipment or more money.

And that's limited to the XBox version? I was always under the impression that the "carry over" works with PC savegame files, too.

I would guess that if you carry over a 360 save from Mass Effect 1 in which you had some of the achievements that gave bonuses those might carry over. I don't see it as being gamebreaking. It simply would be thanking players for having played the first game.
